The Mortimer Arms, Bloomsbury

went to revisit this place only to find it now called the Fitzrovia Belle. New Staff & kitchens, and cleaned up, so it does look nicer. Unfortunately the new owners have decided that it is no longer just a pub, so charge inecess of 4.50 for every single pint. Be warned, you need to have deep pockets to drink there now!

The Only Running Footman, Mayfair

Shame, I was a regular here between 1998 & 2001. What a great little place it was, a good crowd of regular drinkers, top quality bar staff who were always looking to provide a great service, and the passing tourist trade seemed to enjoy it also.
Still looking for a venue in this area to replace it.

The Mortimer Arms, Bloomsbury

popped in to catch some friends at lunchtime a few weeks back. It was my first time in this bar, and enjoyed the friendly staff service. A reasonable selection of drinks, and the ales have 'caske' marks. Could maybe have more than the 3 or 4 on offer.
Nice large screens for Sports watchers, but the tramp alseep by the door (inside!) didn't help the ambiance - not sure if he is a regular, will find out next time...

The New Moon, Bank

a very popular pub in the evening, so be aware that service may be slow to cope with the numbers. On quieter days it can be a great place to go. Could do with a bigger selection of ales, but seems to cater for most types. Try the downstairs bar to get away from the suits.
