The Peeping Tom, Burton Green

Local pub outside coventry, near the university of warwick, with great service, good beer, a great beer garden, and two pool tables.

Ashley Park Hotel, Walton on Thames

The building, and beer and a majority of the staff was top notch.

However if you are under the age of 25 avoid the pub or the landlord specifically like the plague.

I went in with three old friends all of us between 20-25 and went to the bar. We were all ided which is acceptable, I understand the penalties involved to the servers these days. However it was the manager who on learning we were of age and were going to be drinking in his pub started to be very rude...

Halfway through pouring our round he told (not asked) one of my friends to remove his hat, my friend was in the process of getting the money out of his wallet to pay for the drinks and did not acknowledge the manager. As a result within two seconds of the first request, the manager was leaning over the bar poking my friends cap off WITH HIS PEN. At that point we told him that he could have easily blinded this guy

We drank up and left. If you don't like under 25's let us know before we enter and pay for drinks while avoiding assault.....

The Regent, Walton on Thames

Good cheap beer, but the tables are always filthy at night, and the polic presence on friday nights is not very comforting.

The Swan, Walton on Thames

Not impressed, constantly served over-priced lager in real-ale glasses. I like head on my lager, and when I asked them to change for the next pint, the staff did not understand the simple physics of a glass...

The Anglers, Walton on Thames

I wandered in the day after it opened from a 2 month refurb and it looks superb.

Gone is the ghastly orange interior/exterior replaced with great new leather seating and much more than a lick of paint.

It appears to have gone towards a more food oriented approach, and from my sampling of the bangers and mash it is top notch.

Drinks are a bit pricey, but it offers a good variety of contiental lagers I have yet to see in the UK: Staropramen, and Paulaner on tap.

The staff were obviously new, but they showed good enthusiasm towards me.

My visits will be a bit more regular from now on.
