Three Tuns, Barnstaple

The oldest pub in the oldest borough in England.
Opposite Barnstaple's wonderful 150 years old local pannier market, in the high street.
It's a tudor tavern with that lovely dark cosey feel to the place.
They serve food,It has a restaurant upstairs or though i can't comment as i've never eaten there.
What i do love is all it's low cellings & quirckness like to play pool you use sorn off cues cos the walls & pillars are in the places that they are.

The Litten Tree, Barnstaple

It's now called 'FUNKY MUNKYS' open til 4ish thurs-sat. great if your out of your tree (no pun intended) or not very fussy. It's a 'PLUB'(my word for a pub trying to be a club & 'charging' to get in.... not if you paid me!!!)
Cheep bar price's & drink deals.
I love these place's for one reason only ... it keeps all the sqad's & slap's out of the bar's i do freqent.
for that i rate it reasonably.

If your ever in Barnstaple this place is perfect to take you away from it all.
Claytons is a contemporary wine bar with it's NEWLY opened Glass House Restaurant.
Imagine the beam structure of a barn with glass between the beams, with contemporary seating & lighting & a view to the kitchen.
The food is locally sourced as much as possible & is exquisitly prepared & presented.
yes there's more - old black&white movies, a fish tank scene & more on view on the plasma, cosey cushioned booths in the chill-out zone & very fine tunes.
