26 Jan 2016 11:25

Bunkers Hill Inn, Nottingham

Decent pub with hockey shirts plastered to the ceiling, uninspiring ale choice, but nothing wrong with the quality.

26 Jan 2016 11:24

The Barrel Drop, Nottingham

Good pub, not really a "micro" pub as it is quite big and has piped music. Beer served direct from the cask, all ales tried of good quality. Hard to find, as located up a alleyway.

26 Jan 2016 11:22

Radius Arms, Whyteleafe

Always has a good pint or three/four avaiable. Quality very good, Landlord friendly, overall a good micro pub, and worth a visit.

The Butchers Arms, Herne

Back as promised. Burning sky was superb.

6 Jan 2016 12:29

Rising Sun, Herne Bay

Nice pub, poor ale quality as the Old Dairy was like vinegar. Shame.

6 Jan 2016 12:28

The Firkin Frog, Herne Bay

Another micro pub with a bit more of a locals feel. All beer of good standard.

6 Jan 2016 12:27

Still best pub in Kingston!

12 Nov 2015 13:28

9 Nov 2015 15:41

Great brewery bar serving the whole York range of ales. friendly staff and good beer. No fruit machines or music, so you can sit and have a decent chat without having your ears blasted. New toilets a good improvement.

27 Oct 2015 09:38

The Sun, Carshalton

Was in early Saturday with five mates. Ordered five pints of Oakham Bishops farewell, which was superb. We sat at a table by the door, well away from the diners. After 10 minutes a reserved sign was plonked on the table with a "this table is reserved at 5.30" The time was 5.15. The Sun needs to decide if it is a pub or restaurant and clearly state if tables are reserved (which I don't agree with in pubs) long before the due time of arrival. We moved to the Hope and The Sun lost five drinkers money, as we would have stayed for more.

19 Oct 2015 13:51

29 Sep 2014 15:04

The Old Bank, Sutton

Advertised a beer festival fron 25/09/14, so thought I would pop in and support a local pub.
Asked if there was a copy of the beers that were coming on and was told "no"..................decided on pint of Butcombe Haka, most disgusting, poorly kept beer I have expirienced, warm and very tired, how they managed this in today's age is a mystery. This appears to be a mostly lager sales pub, and if they cannot look after a beer, I would suggest they do not hold a beer festival, I dread to think what state the champion beer of britain was in.

To many ales on for the amount of customers in during the day. Beer average which is a shame as the Guv is trying. Worth a visit.

25 Nov 2011 15:23

Smugglers Den, Morecambe

No idea what this place is like. SHUT at 12.45 on a Saturday afternoon. GBG needs to change the opening time for this place.

Fair play if the Guv can afford to let 12 thirsty people go elswhere.

11 Oct 2011 12:13

Good ale served in a friendly bar, best place for a decent ale in Morcambe.

10 Oct 2011 11:42

The Empress, Cambridge

Heartofglass.

Not just football supporters, there was a few local idiots, non more so than the idiot wearing the vest!

Good ale from local brewery, nothing the pub could have expected. I would expect in general a very decent boozer.

11 Apr 2011 16:08

Trafalgar Freehouse, South Wimbledon

Also in on 3rd April for the third time is as many weeks. The beer has been excellent on all occassions, especially the Art Brew Lemon! Found the beer was becoming a little inconsistent, but seems to be back to its best. Good pub with friendly locals.

Hoppyal loves Ellie!!!!!!

6 Apr 2011 15:44

The No 2 Refreshment Rooms (Under the Clock), Cleethorpes

dissapointed in this bar, after reading the write up in the GBG.
Beer uninspiring and lack of atmosphere

7 Mar 2011 15:49

Willy's Pub and Brewery, Cleethorpes

Willys original good but on the cold side. Other guest beers not 100%.
Great idea early Friday with vouchers for beer, certainly got the crowds in.
Saturday night a bit to loud for me with the DJ.
It is the best pub in Cleethorpes! Says it all really.

7 Mar 2011 12:10

The Edgar Wallace, Temple

Rob,

Intimidating atmosphere? You sure you was in the right pub?

18 Aug 2010 12:12

The Will Adams, Gillingham

Popped in on Saturday 7th August, and was greeted by Oakleaf IPA, Wold Top bitter and one other which I cannot remember. Quality of ale superb as usual!
Easily best pub in Gillingham, why is it not packed every day?

9 Aug 2010 12:30

The Cock and Bull, Sutton

I like the pub, and the staff have always been decent.
It's just the beer quality, that at times, lets them down.

8 Jul 2010 12:26

The Hope, Carshalton

Agree with Hoppyal regarding people refusing to move from the bar, which can make it difficult to get served.
Always seems to be a weird smell in the pub (carpets or coming from the cellar, where there has been an issue with water coming in)
I have also been moved from the table I was sitting on due to a private function, which is an inconvenience if there is nowhere else to sit.
Beer quality usually good, a great improvemnet to what the pub was before the friendly landlady took over.

7 Jul 2010 15:57

Royal Oak Inn, Staffhurst Wood

Larkins and food of a good quality.

Excellent old fashioned pub, wonderful landlord.
Great Big Lamp beers.
Reccommended highly.

18 Jun 2010 16:04

The Rose and Crown, Halstead

One of the best pubs around this area of Kent.
Beer always 1oo%, and a regular outlet for Larkins.

A sad day indeed if Bob leaves!!

The Northern Belle, Margate

Best pub in Margate, beer always well kept (Sheps) friendly landlord.

15 Jun 2010 12:23

The White Rose Hotel, Askrigg

Pleasent enough bar.
A little dissapointed with the White Rose ale from Yorkshire Dales, it was much to early to be put on.
Women behind bar refused to change it, although it had the consistiancy of tar.
The other Yorkshire Dales beer was 100%

9 Jun 2010 15:43

The Temple Hotel, Matlock Bath

Not the greatest pub by a long way. But the beer quality is always 100%

26 May 2010 08:42

The Jolly Tanners, Staplefield

Good beer and food,
Shame about the locals "I live in this village, what r u doing in my pub attitude".

29 Oct 2009 08:29

The Willoughby Arms, Kingston Upon Thames

Been using this pub on most Saturday's for about three years. Not once have I had a bad pint, which makes this the most consistant pub for quality beer.

This pub comes highly reccomended.
