The Golden Grove, Chertsey

I had Sunday Lunch here last Sunday. Waited too long and when the meal turned up their idea of a roast chicken dinner consisted of a tasteless leg of grizzle overheated and over priced. Staff not interested and badly trained as well as looking unwashed for serving food. Over all a terrible experience topped off with a warm larger shandy. Best left to go bust in my opinion, they dont deserve customers.

The Magpie, Sunbury on Thames

This place is buzzing under the new manageress. The previous management Mark and Kate had no idea about service or managing staff. Now the pint is consistent, the Guinness is probably the best in Sunbury now, the ale very well looked after, the staff look like they care, and the outside is clean which makes it a very pleasant experience.

The White Horse, Sunbury on Thames

GP no need to be personal we all have a view. The management have let their loyal clients down by expecting them to tolerate poorly washed glasses, pipes cleaned once a month if you are lucky. The reason his punters are in every pub but his is not a co-incidence. His oldest customer in his 90s drinking there since his teens had to leave and find another pub.

The Phoenix, Sunbury on Thames

This is a nice pub, the girls working there are all polite and good humoured, the beer is great and the garden a great place to sit in the summer. The dining room resembles a Blackpool guest house on a bleak day so the eating experience is poor.
The new manager Mo is the biggest mistake that owner Nigel has made, no personality, no manners, rude, abrupt to name a few traits. I wouldn't let him look after the pigeons nesting in the Whitehorse let alone a pub of this potential. Come on Nigel wake up. Score a 10 with proper managment

The White Horse, Sunbury on Thames

This place has gone to the dogs. The place is falling down and has pigeons nesting above the windows making a mess of the people passing by as well as the walls etc. The staff are not interested, the beer is rank and sold in dirty glasses which renders it flat within seconds. The toilets are beyond filthy and normally flood when more than 10 people are drinking there. The owner George has fallen out with all his customers, the pubs golf society still exists but drinks in the Flowerpot. Not a place for a man with a weak stomach. Its a shame as it has the potential to be the best but blinkered management too stupid to admit they are wrong has it ruined. The Guinness is now the worst pint in Sunbury and no doubt further a field. AVOID
Hoe the council allow it to remain open is a mystery.
