Scruffy and uninviting. Cold with little atmosphere and just drinkable casks. Sports led with many tv screens and a separate pool room.

The Old Royal Oak, Knaresborough
Nicely turned out and good smoking area but no atmosphere and not particularly friendly. Turfed out as they closed at 8.30. Beer not great but not awful.

Warm traditional pub. No kids, no sports, open fire and friendly staff welcoming atmosphere and locals. John smiths, speckled hen and a guest on cask. Welcome retreat from the bars of today.

Crown Inn, Knaresborough
Large sports led youngsters pub. Unwelcoming and not particularly clean. Lager and spirit drinkers only and only recommend if u want to watch the football
