The last two posts were obviously from the same person with a connection or allegiance to the Fox. This pub is, regrettably, run by people who drink more than they sell!! The beer is sometimes passable, other times not good. As for the menu......well, it's hardly 'classy country fayre'. No disrespect to the chef, he can only cook what's on the menu. This place is crying out for a professional manager. I doubt one will appear.

Strange kind of pub with a couple of armatures running the joint, watch out for the 'chef/owner', he'll make you laugh! The bar is a disgrace in my opinion, clean yes but totally uninspiring and devoid of any marketing concept . The pub is in need of some major decoration, get rid of that horrible green carpet!!!
As for the beer, no quibbles there. All the beers I tasted were in tip top condition (they had 3 real ales on). Can't comment on the food, but the menu looked limited and pricey.

Well I've met some strange licensees in my time, but this lady tops them all. We ordered a couple of ales at the bar, Ringwood as I remember, we were the accosted by the landlady with the usual 'will you be eating with us today'? When my mate replied 'sorry, no' her attitude instantly changed. I have never met such a rude Australian (but she may have been a New Zealander) in my life!! Beer was good, welcome was extremely frosty. Avoid at all costs!!!

Went back in here the other day. What's happened?? Change of management (again, 5 in the last year I make it) manager looks like shes on something!!! Very bad indeed. From now on I'll keep driving to the Fox at North Waltham. Avoid at all costs.

fiftyfive - You got that slightly wrong, the strange landlord talks total c**p!! What a way to ruin a pub, or is it a restaurant??? Well I agree with others, I can't work out what the place is. My recommendation? Keep driving!!!

What can I say.....Grat night ot, beer reasonably priced, highly recommended for a live music venu!!!!

I can not believe the 'good' responces for this joint. It is small, dirty and remindes me of drinking in a fall out shelter!! The customers are stuck up pompus gits and it's run by a rather large idiot. Tjhe food is just about passable.......give it a wide birth!!!

I can't understand the comment below by 'viccrown'. My husband and I have now eaten at the Fox aroud five times in the last 2 months. The food is very good traditional English fayer and has a very resonable selection (the fish and chips are highly recommended. Viccrown must have visited on a Tuesday as this is their 'Buy One Get One Free' day and usually some of the main dishes are not offered in this promotion (I know this because I've actually bothered to ask the very nice barmaid). As for the 'Dishevelled looking old woman' I suspect the name of the chef had not been changed on the board. I actually find Viccrown's comments regarding this lady insulting!!!
As for the page 3 pictures there are 2 photo's of Linda Lusardi near the end of the bar (fully clothed I must add) and they are not offensive in the least.
I suspect that Viccrown is a regular in the Crown at Axford and has something against the Fox. Don't listen to his comments, he is I suspect some Grumpy Old Git who needs to get a life!!!

I read the previous comments on this pub so decided to trek over from Winchester. When we arrived the pub had a sign on the door - "Closed for Refurbishment Until Further Notice".......I take it the '�9 a pint to dog haters' didn't catch on then??!! Looks like another pub that may be consigned to the history books. Can't rate it, 'cause I couldn't get in!!!! lol !!!!
