The Golden Hart, Newport

recently under new management, selling real ale and cider. interior unchanged over many years, very much a locals pub. can get rather loud though.

Engineers Arms, Newport

This pub has suffered in the recent past, but with a new landlord and the re introduction of real ale it is hoped it can begin a new chapter.

The Newbridge Inn, Usk

Recently bought by the owners of the Celtic Manor hotel. popped in the day. appears to be just an extension of the mother hotel.

The White Hart Village Inn, Llangybi

Visited recently, yes very much a gastropub, but they had two local real ales. Certainly worth a look, comments welcome.

The Boat Inn, Chepstow

Cosy little pub with a dedicated eating area upstairs, always has real ales on tap, you haven't done Chepstow until you've visited the Boat.

Engineers Arms, Newport

Lovely little pub off the main drag, regular live music, the landlord is a big blues fan by all accounts. one real ale, well kept.

Tucked away down a backstreet, this popular pub supplies a selection of real ales and ciders, well worth a visit if you are in the area
