The Castle Hotel, Manchester

Dirty and smelly with truly horrible toilets, i have twice watched older chaps widdling themselves and falling over here. Looks dodgy from the outside. Also stocks the entire range of Robinsons beers in tip top condition. Friendly, as well.I quite like it.

The Hat and Feathers, Manchester

This pub is now closed. Not that anybody is probably going to notice!

The Briton's Protection Hotel, Castlefield

Not as good as it used to be. Food ropey. Beer good, atmosphere changeable. Beautiful interior, probably needs to be a little more relaxed to be appreciated properly.

The Freemasons Arms, Wiswell

You'll never find it, it's down an unmarked alleyway and you cant see it from the end, but... some of the finest food in Lancashire (really), a 600 bin wine list, good real ales, dozens of whiskys, God knows what else. Oh, and about as big as your aunties sitting room and similarly furnished. Gets very busy (that'd be twenty people, then!).

The Kings Arms, Salford

Yes, very good, still a very mixed clientele during the day though, at about five in the evening the sport 'newspaper' gives way to the guardian, though! Fine beer, food as unpredictable as a dodgy kidney!

The Church Inn, Prestwich

drug dealers and chavs. Boring tapas in the evening

The Lord Raglan, Nangreaves

A real shame. Poorly cooked food appalingly served, stroppy, sulky kids working in the restaurant, the whole place coulddo with a bloody good clean as well, in my opinion. Dirt does not equal atmosphere. Oh, great beers, though! (wonder if they do them in bottles).Nice spot, as well, but a serious need to re-evaluate the words 'hospitality' and 'good food'.
