The Ferry Boat Inn, Dittisham

What a brilliant pub the landlord and Landlady very welcoming, the food was excellent., and the service was always with a smile.

16 of us spent New Year in the vIllage, and came here New Years Eve it was a blast everyone so friendly.good music, what a fantastic night.
The gents toilets are a bit drafty apparently watch out for the step!
And the walk back up the hill is not so bad when you have had a few jars, might be handy to take atorch especially in the Winter months!

The Red Lion Inn, Dittisham

16 of us stayed her for New Year, the rooms are very nice and clean, the food was exceptional and home made.
They have 3 lovely dogs ,2 of which are Dalmations and well behaved.
A very friendly pub and Tony plays a mean guitar.
well worth a visit.

The Load Of Hay, Uxbridge

A very enjoyable and pleasant pub to go to,the New Manager Siobhan was very pleasant , efficient and helpful.
It is quite refreshing to see young people using the pub and behaving sensibly, pubs like this one are few and far between and must be preserved as part of the Great British Tradition not a wine bar or themed pub,but a proper pub. Karaoke night has now stopped Thank God.
Things can only get better for this Pub.

In response to Martin Shaw's comments I also use this pub. what makes you an authority on people.
do you just wander round pubs believing yourself to be na expert?
You have the audacity to criticise jamesball888 for his lack of using proper grammar, please practice what you preach; "It's awful 'nuff said."
as for your further statement " HOW COULD ANY DECENT HUMAN BEING EVER SUBJECT THEMSELVES TO THIS Dump?
Again what makes you think you are so superior?
Perhaps you should just stick to your local if you have one.

The Waggon and Horses, Uxbridge

The Waggon and Horses has been gone for ages it was a great pub but unfortunatley has been turned into another grotty Macdonalds.

The Landlord is a very pleasant chap very friendly as are the majority of his staff. Just a few niggles, Loud music from the public bar, kids that seem to be allowed in to play darts! kids sitting outside drinking( incidently these drinks were not sold to them by the pub)A good traditional pub with a good atmosphere, very much a locals pub.

The Abrook Arms, Uxbridge

We were appalled at the state of the pub, dirty floors, dusty shelves, smeared mirrors, toilets with no toilet paper. The place has not been cleaned for weeks!!
I was served by an unkempt man who had a child sitting on his shoulders,Health and safety not his strong point, his partner looks about 12 and both lack customer service skills or personality. A laptop was placed on the bar with loud out of date music, making it difficult to hold a conversation. Still no sign of food being offered, although a sorry excuse for a sign has been placed on the womens toilet door (slightly sexist) personally having worked in the trade I would not want to work for the two people who are currently running the pub (into the ground I may add) This is a lovely traditional pub full of character, the previous people gave it a community spirit running different events over the year. Plus no Sky!!!!!! no Sport coverage of the big events, the locals deserve better. We will not be using this pub again until they get someone in who cares about the pub and the residents and is enthusiastic about running/Managing a pub, and keeping this lovely pub alive. Yours in Disgust.

Like all pubs you get a few people who are not everyones cup of tea, the Landlord is a very hospitable host and the evening bar staff are friendly and very good.
I too like TSW have never seen a fight in this pub and I have used this pub for the last 11 years.
It is a proper pub not one the themed pretentious bars with plastic people and no atmosphere.
