The Banner Cross Hotel, Sheffield

Great pub. Whenever i visit Sheff, this is where i seem to end up for a couple of pints. great mix, good staff, half decent beer and no pretentions of grandeur or menus with pan fried protein with chive mash and a tian of gnatschuff

Bel and The Dragon, Godalming

This is not a pub, and be careful not to ask the staff if you can have rice instead of potatoes with your meal...you get what it says on the menu end of the food through was fine, the drink though was exorbitantly expensive a glass of house red cost a few pennies short of a fiver c'mon guys

The George and Dragon, Much Wenlock

I visit this pub whenever i have to travel back from head office in the south east to my home in north wales. It is the quintessential English pub. Good beer, excellent food and lovely staff and regulars. the only problem is that i can only drink a pint as there are another 80 miles to travel before i get home.

Can you move it closer to caernarfon please?

The Villagers Inn, Blackheath

Beautiful location, nice beer garden, very friendly and amenable landlord and landlady (Sue and Andy). The beer was excellent and the choice was good and it is clear that they are working hard to improve the place. However the food is not up to scratch, it is overpriced and i was a bit embarrassed that i had dragged other people to eat here based on what some of the above comments had implied. Still definitely worth a visit as the place was refershingly free of the usual surrey types and i am sure that you would have an intersting visit. Also it has to be said that the barmaids were so goooorgeous and frinedly and efficient that they deserve a special and politically incorrect mention;-)
