The Woolpack, Southgate

Likeable pub, with good landlord and nice feel. The best pub in Southgate for me.

The Salisbury Arms, Winchmore Hill

Used to be dreadful, now very nice indeed, although the bar staff are a little, ahem, "low end". Sorry to be snobby, but they let the side down.

The Kings Head, Winchmore Hill

Its a nice pub, but it attracts a dull wannabee crowd. Not cheap, but it shouldn't be - they have done a very good job of this place, and its in a lovely location. Great summer pub - love that courtyard.

The Queens Head, Winchmore Hill

I like this place, yes it isn't cheap but its Winchmore Hill not Edmonton. Good atmosphere, can be a bit "young and clubby" on a friday night, then empties at 10, when they all go clubbing.

Willow, Winchmore Hill

Shocking pub, falling apart at the seams, rough crowd. Needs a refurb.

The Orange Tree, Winchmore Hill

I'd agree with the best pub in N21 comment. Great landlord, sports mad - the best place to spend a saturday afternoon if you love hooky football on Danish feeds and all the scores on three other screens. Then its football off, and a great local boozer again.

The Duke of Cambridge, Islington

This is a real find, tucked away off of City Road, its a gem. Proper local with great real ales, and hearty pub food, this is the ideal place to lose an afternoon. Wooden floors and The Velvet Underground on the (sensibly volumed) speakers, but pork scratchings and Timothy Taylors too. I love this place, just wish I lived closer.
