The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush

Bowl of chips for 18? Crikey, you've been had mate.

This pub is quite nice. Full of bbc people, you get the occasional braying twonk but is still a nicer atmosphere than most other places in the blighted Bush.

Woodies, New Malden

Farewell, then, Chloe. The place won't be the same without you.

The Royal Court Tavern, Sloane Square

Bar staff were rude and dismissive, was charged 3.50 for a half of (flat) lemonade and a cup of tea (no milk - only UHT). Freezing cold. Empty, yet smoky, somehow.

Never, ever, ever go to this pub.

The Duke of Cambridge, New Malden

It's going to become a Drive Through Doughnut emporium. It opens on May 5th, so you can buy a bucketload while you consider who to vote for.

The Fountain, New Malden

I went here recently for the first time in years. I felt the life-force ebbing from my veins. I shan't visit again, until the Korean food festival...

The Alexandra, Wimbledon

I was shocked at the crappiness of the food, ridiculously expensive and you don't get a lot for your money. Also, 2.60 for a pint of lemonade is taking the piss.

The Canterbury Arms, Brixton

Erm, I meant pub, rather than club. Obviously.

The Canterbury Arms, Brixton

Wonderful old dive of a club, and has a top indie/soul night on in the back room every month ('how does it feel to be loved?'), which is incongruous but works.

The Hogarth, Teddington

Was full of confused locals who didn't really understand the awful new tables and chairs. I didn't fully understand them either.

They did have Jack Frost on tap, though, and the staff were friendly. Just a shame it's so bland inside.

The Mallard, Teddington

Drab and depressing.

Woodies, New Malden

The quiz needs to be sorted out, I quite agree, it's a bit cack these days. Yes, the pub is far, far too smoky. Still love it, though.

The Nellie Dean of Soho, Soho

Great pub, particularly upstairs, which no-one seems to know about. Though, echoing the previous comment, they probably will now.

Me & my other half got our arses kicked at pool by a couple of non-husters last Saturday. The four pint rule doesn't seem to work for me any more.

Oh, and the jukebox is a bit knackered, and hardly ever bothers to play what you lovingly suggest it plays. Avoid.

Woodies, New Malden

Has anyone heard the Woodies adverts on Radio Jackie? "Step into another world", indeed. I never thought they'd actually advertise the place. They must be in trouble. I hope it survives, though, because the new landlord/lady is/are very nice, and the staff are now actually friendly, which is a shocking change, one I'm still coming to terms with. Woodies has reclaimed its mantle as best pub in New Malden.
