The Royal Court Tavern, Sloane Square

I'd be keen to see whether they've learned any lessons when they reopen - prior to 2005 it used to have rude staff and overpriced drinks and the most draconian attitude to drinking up time i've ever encountered (they actually threw people's stuff out on to the street to encourage them to drink up!)

The Masons Arms, Marylebone

You can get a seat, which is more than you can say for most West End pubs. The beer is fine the food is adequate. There's no piped music or nasty little kids so i'd recommend it.

The Bush Bar and Grill, Shepherds Bush

Poor acoustics, drafty in winter, food is good but overpriced

The Raven, Stamford Brook

I had my wedding reception here in August 07 and The Raven did a great summer barbeque - swordfish kebabs were the highlight. The manager and the chef love their food and the pub is unpretentiously earthy with a great atmosphere, the main section has booth seating, long tables and sofas, there's a lighter conservatory, a rustic restaurant and an uncovered yard with picnic tables. The staff are really friendly and easy going, this is a great place to go for Sunday lunch but they'd do you proud if you wanted them to host a celebration for you.
