The Victoria Inn, Rugby

Busy evening with a quiz going on. A range of excellent beers including a very good pint of Half-Life from their own Atomic brewery. Really pleasant atmosphere.

Seven Stars, Rugby

The Seven Stars has just been bought by Everard's and has undergone an extensive refit. Now leased to Banks & Taylor's it has a very pleasant interior with a nice traditional feel. Boasting eight real ales when we visited the ale was on good form. A little quite but that apparently is what was intended with no music or TV's to spoil the atmosphere. Worth a trip but I wonder if they have really researched the local market.

The Newbold Comyn Arms, Leamington Spa

A good choice of ales welcomes visitors to the pub. A lovely outdoor area but quite a trek from the town centre.

The Oak, Warwick

Agree with previos comments. Although a good pub in Warwick with a decent choice of ales and a nice atmosphere this is by no means the best in Warwickshire. However I enjoyed my trip there and will be back.

The Paddox, Hillmorton

An interesting local but seemed to be full of chavs!!! Had sunday lunch which was very good but the atmoshpere was bordering on Eastenders. Probably worth avoiding.!!!!!!

The Golden Lion Inn, Easenhall

Lovely village and a decent pub / Hotel. Pricey and a little short of decent beers the food was good and the staff were very courtious.

Brewers Fayre, Rugby

This establishment has once again changed its name and although a nice trendy eating house it offers very little for the pub goer.

The Alexandra Arms, Rugby

The pub has recently changed hands and it has been bought by the lads form the Atomic Brewery. Little has changed as yet although the cellar has just undergone a complete refit. Appears the Abbot has been dropped ( not before Time) and it looks as if we should be in for a wider choice of beers form now. Good luck to the lads it will be a hard act to follow.

The Three Horse Shoes Hotel, Rugby

A decent enough hotel close to the centre of Rugby. The bar had little to offer in the way of real ales although there were two in decent condition. Decent enough as a hotel but not a drinkers estabishment.

Raglan Arms, Rugby

An interesting pub in a rather awkward location. Decent selection of ales although there was rather too much greene king for my liking. Even so friendly landlady and nice feel.

The Peyton Arms, Stoke Lyne

I am a frim believer in so called "Rural Gems" and this certainly is one. However the Landlord was also a rural gem!! a blast from a bygone era who was one of the most pompous men I have had the pleasure to meet. There's two ways of doing things. My way or the wrong way!! The beer was good but the welcome was frosty. Caveat Emptor

The Red Lion, Hunningham

Set in a beautiful location near the riverside this is a pub I was looking froward to find. Unfortunatley it a bit too pretentious. The food although good, was very expensive and if GK is the best beer they can put on im afraid it didnt do much for me. The staff were courteous but it was just a glorified eating establishment!!!

The Somerville Arms, Leamington Spa

A pleasent enough pub with nice atmoshpere and friendly staff, The coice of ales was a bit limited but it was on reasonable form, I have to say the leamington pubs are a little dissapointing on the whole but this was one of the better ones!

The Church End Brewery Tap, Nuneaton

A very interesting brewery tap although a little soulless. The range of beers from Church End was impressive but there was room for some guest ales. I have been on a number of occasions and it especially good when sat outside in the garden area. A bit off the beaten track but worth a trip.

The Castle Inn, Edgehill

Wonderful location make this a very interesting pub to visit. Ale choice was a little limited compared with tyhe best but the food was excellent with good portions. Busy when the weather is good.

The Market Tavern, Atherstone

A nice pub with a good choice of ales. Well worth a trip

The Holly Bush Inn, Rugby

Clean and tidy with a reasonable atmosphere. The beer choice was limited which is most peoples reason for going to a pub.

The Alexandra Arms, Rugby

A good back street boozer near the car park. Went in to try some of the Atomic ales but found non. However there was the landlords own beer petite blonde on at the bar which was quite pleasant. Good graden and good value food at luchtime.

The Squirrel Inn, Rugby

I agree that this a little gem Little being the operative word. The slightly limeted choice and the expensive prices are however a little off putting.

Fighting Cocks, Rugby

Sliding back a little compared to the oposition. This is still worth a visit although it really has no distingushing features and no more than a pretty basic beer selection.

The Victoria Inn, Rugby

A lovely boozer with a staggering 14 handpumps. Ale in very good condition. This is a serious ale lovers pub so much better than the last time I visited Rugby. All in all a very enjoyable trip out.
