The Elephant and Castle, Amersham

Brilliant pub, worked in Amersham 6 years ago and still head back to enjoy a pint or two in this pub. Good food, and a perfect place to warm up in winter or autumn after a ramble through the Chiltern Hills.

The Pheasant, Amersham

Used to head here for lunch when I worked in Amersham many years ago. Hazy memories of pretty average food, but nevertheless a nice place to have a few lagers in the sun before heading back to the office.

The Moon Under Water, Balham

A grim pub, really grim! Did get a cooked breakfast for about 2 one saturday morning after the rugby though.

Oscars, Harrow

A hotel bar, small with unnessarily loud music which is clearly for the benefit of the staff not the patrons. Staff usually friendly though.

The Junction, Harrow

Student pub with a few people from the local offices dthere during or after work. Not a bad pub, half decent food, half decent beer and a usual drink specials you'd expect to attract in the kids. I enjoy a drink there, especially in summer.

The Cittie of Yorke, Holborn

A fantastic place for an all day session, especially as the days get shorter and winter draws in. Love the architecture, the traditional boozer in the front and then a beer hall towards the back. The bar downstairs lacks the same atmosphere as the other two rooms.

The Hatchet, Mansion House

Happened across this pub after I met a mate at Mansion House. Small pub and busy when we arrived (it was 5:30 Friday evening though so what do you expect). The front has standing room only however we managed to find a seat out the back. Friendly punters and good beer!

We enjoyed the pub so much that we actually returned later in the evening as the after-work crowd thinned out. Good banter with the publican, seemed like a really nice guy. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Spaniards Inn, Hampstead Heath

It's a pub with an impressive reputation and a great location. It is almost as if it is a country pub in the middle of London. Fantastic beer garden, a reward for those who make the trek away from Hampstead. Overcoming the slow service, which I've experienced everytime I've visited, it is still a very relaxing and welcoming place. Good food and nice ciders, this pub is perfect for a solid session with good mates in the summertime.
