Oh epsomaledrinker, and jeffdaff arnt we getting a little bitchy about these two pubs....!!!! everyone wishes both pubs will continue to get up and running, so stop this bitching please, and get on with the job of having a pint or two..!

Its a shame they did not do any "clearing up " as you call it, in the White Horse before they left, or even living in that squalor they left behind. The new people are trying to do their best to get the place livable and get some custom back after the place was left to neglect . What ever happens to The White Horse in the future lets give them a little support now! Hoping it will stay an old stalwart of a good english RACING TOWN pub as it was built for many years ago, the same as The Ladas, The Amato, and the rest of the "old pubs" in Epsom, many new people forget this IS a racing town, yet one by one they are taking our history away from us, lets keep some traditional pubs going on in our area, and not try and change them into "Gastro, or Bistro pubs".

I have recently visited The Drive public house, I do not live in this area but have reatives who do and we go for a pint or two when I am down this way. All I can say these people behind the bar , Di and her team were very friendly and accomodating, they held a couple of events there recently which I attended and found a good hardworking team , they provided a wonderful buffet and the music played by "Mandy the music mixer" ( as I called her) was a mix of 50"s...60"s right up until the present day, which was enjoyed by all, old fogies like me and 16, 17, 18yrs old, it was a great evening. Ok, we all know pubs always have one or two undesireables, but hey thats the name of the game....put up or shut up and dont go there again............but as far as I am concerned they were genuine, very hard working and most welcoming, the place its self could do with a few licks of paint here and there but that does not detract from very friendly service...Thanks Di and your team.....! (I think you know who I am ..! )

Dont drive past, pop in and see the new people who are trying to get it up and running again, ask them and they will explain, they are a very accommodating and genuine couple tryng hard in the face of adversity, Thank you.

I cannot believe so many unthruths are circulating about this pub just recently,if the previous managers were soooo great, how come they are not still there, the truth is they ran it in into the ground and lost so much custom, let us see how they get on in The Ladas.......as for The White Horse now, Chris and Jan,a very decent couple are trying to clean up the mess left behind, upstairs and down, eventually getting the kitchen up to a clean and safe area and then being able to serve food, how on earth food was served there a few months ago is beyond belief, Chris and Jan are down to earth decent folk trying to pick up the pieces left behind by the previous managers, give them a chance for goodness sake, they didnt create the problems in the pub, they were already there before they moved in , we all want this lovely old pub to get back to the way it was a good few years ago, before being robbed of its original nature, not just the odd person who has one pint a night and then decides they know all the cures for this establishment, it needs commited and hard working people to get the old place up and going again so let this new couple be given the chance to do so and stop all this childish bickering going on.....Good luck Chris and Jan....dont let the b........s drag you down.

Oh epsomaledrinker and jeffdaff, lets stop all this bitching about these two pubs, we all wish both pubs will get up and running properly soon, so lets stop acting like a couple of spoilt kids throwing their toys out of the pram, and get on with the job of having a pint or two..!
