The Oak, Teddington

Not sure if it's changed hands in the last year or so but I remember when it first opened after the rebuilding it had a very arrogant owner/manager who used to seat himself and his cronies on the largest table in the place and sneer at everyone.

Now it's much friendlier and the owner/manager really makes a huge effort. The bar staff are good as well. Great wine. It's a pity it's always so quiet, we've tried it a few times recently on Saturday nights and it's been almost empty on all occasions. What a shame.

The Lion, Teddington

What a great local pub. It's fantastic in summer with the large garden but just as good in winter. The whole place is always spotlessly clean, unlike some places, and has a really nice friendly atmosphere. Good beer. Haven't tried the food yet though.

The Hogarth, Teddington

Not a bad pub. I'm female and go in but avoid it when there's football on as it seems to pull in rather a strange clientele who are a bit creepy.

Other times it's fine. The staff are friendly, the beer and wine are good and it's handy for Bar Estilo for tapas after a few pints. What more could you want?

The Teddington Arms, Teddington

Not a bad pub but ordering food on a Sunday is a bit hit and miss. Our table of four all got the food at different times with the last person's arriving about 10 mins after the first had finished eating.

In the evenings they ALWAYS seem to block off the sofa area for a "private party" and half the time no-one ever turns up which is annoying as it can get quite busy in the bar area. So you don't have a seat but have to stare frustratedly at the empty reserved seats. Drives me mad.

The Kings Head, Teddington

It's a funny mix of a place, with the restaurant at the front and bar at the back. The sofas near to the bar make a nice cozy place to sit but the room at the side is awful, so brightly lit it's like drinking under floodlights.

The new manager seems friendly enough but I nearly fell through the floor at the price of a glass (large) of red wine. I plumped for merlot and was charged 6.05!!! For one glass. Incredible.

Despite that we gave the restaurant a try and it was great. The real fire made for a lovely warm atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the staff in the restaurant were friendly. So not all bad, pity about the prices.

The Tide End Cottage, Teddington

I completely agree with Steve, bring back Shirley! This used to be my favourite pub in Teddington but we now rarely go in. The service is still incredibly slow, the landlady seemed to want to spend more time complaining about the "loyalty" vouchers than serving at the bar. Which in itself is hard enough due to the stools at the bar problem mentioned previously.

The last straw for us was the loudmouthed drunk, Gary I think he's called, who drapes himself at one end of the bar and makes the whole atmosphere an unpleasant one. What used to have a cross section of people; after work drinkers, couples, families, grandparents etc enjoying a drink and meal, we're now left with only the people who can tolerate the delights of Gary's witticisms. It's almost bad enough to drive me to the Anglers!
