The British Lion (the Pig), Crewe

Oasis in the desert of decent pubs along Nantwich Road.

Only pub for miles to sell real dark mild (Tetley. Good selection of real ale. If you are stuck at Crewe station waiting for a connection, then try here.

The Duke of Bridgewater, Crewe

Top Hat now replaced by Marston's Pedigree. Kept well, nice price. Pub getting busier. The clientele from the last time the pub was good ( about 6 years ago) seem to be returning. Friendly landlady and staff.

Used to be half decent. Ale now awful. Music too loud. full of kids. Probably fequented by clients of the brothel over the road!!

The Lodge Inn, Alsager

Basic town pub with bar and room. Worth visiting, specially if the Mere is packed out. Everard's Tiger, Marston's Pedigree and regular guest beers all kept reallly well.
