The Cleave, Lustleigh

Quaint old pub but short on homeliness. Non-smoking throughout. Most locals drink further afield.

Going downhill rapidly. ALL of the old staff have now left. The telly's gone, there's no live music, they've dumbed down the restaurant menu, they managed to redecorate-out all the atmosphere and the regulars have deserted it in droves. A real shame.

The King Of Prussia, Bovey Tracey

Locals pub under new management since Jan 2006. Redecorated inside and out. Beer mainly unchanged (it's a Heavitree pub) but now better kept - London Pride and a guest ale generally available. Music on a fairly regular basis (couple of times a month) and karaoke too, so pick your nights carefully. When the pub is quiet (esp. early evening), a love of Johnny Cash and Chas & Dave is advised.

Comedy Dave and most of the old crew have moved on, although in Dave's case it's mostly to the other side of the bar. Hasn't been any live music since Xmas that I can remember - hopefully they will bring it back. Still showing as much rugby as ever - don't expect football if even the most obscure rugby team is being televised.
Beer and atmosphere untouched by change of management.

The Bell Inn, Bovey Tracey

A good, solid locals pub but visitors are always made welcome. Spiritual home of the Bovey Tracey Drinking Orchestra (trad jazz) and home to monthly jam nights: blues (First Monday) and acoustic (third Thursday).
London Pride & Bass supplemented by regular guest ales.
