This is a lovely pub in a little hamlet near Coniston. It is hundreds of years old and has a great atmosphere and character. We went there one evening during our visit to the area and went back every evening after that ; looked no further.
The staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. My husband had the Cumberland hotpot two nights out of our 4 .
We will return .

I went here for the first time today and I was hugely impressed by it . The landlord was so helpful, welcoming and understanding. The views are outstanding, Chehsire at its' finest. The beer garden is lovely. The pub is very clean.
I want to return and try the food. It smelt very good !!

I am pleased kevin ward and his family had a pleasant experience with polite staff. It just shows how staff vary from one day to the next. I hope though that when he definitely returns , he doesn't get the same staff that C Moore and family , and my family and I got on our visit, because it will leave a very taste in his mouth if he does.

The Waltzing Weasel Inn, Birch Vale
I went to this pub on father's day this year 2010 in a party of 5 people and I must say I was impressed with everything about the place . The food was superb , the prices very resonable for what we had . There was lots of locally sourced food . The decor , manners of the staff everything was wonderful .
I will return ...definitely .

The Miners Arms, Adlington Cheshire is a gem in beautiful Cheshire countryside . It offers a superb menu and good range of drinks .It is so clean and the staff are helpful .
The portions are HUGE and unusually for a pub, they will do small portions for those with a small appetite.
An excellent seating area and children s area can be found outside .

The Seven Stars, Thornton Hough
I went to this pub one Saturday lunchtime a few weeks ago and I must say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Set in a beautiful locataion , it is spotlessly clean and the food is excellent and beautifully presented whether it is a full meal or a sandwich.
I have already recommended it to friends who have travelled 35 miles to go there for lunch and were nt disappointed .

This is my most favourite place to have a meal anywhere !
The menu is massive , the portions are huge . and they always go the extra mile to be helpful . The waiting on staff are superb and so helpful and polite.
It is spotlessly clean , and the hostess Carole knows faces who have visted before , an admirable quality in her business.
I had some Australian friends staying with me and they wanted to try an English ploughman s lunch which was nt actually on the menu . But it was no problem . One was provided for them because they wanted it .
Excellent in everyway .

I must admit I have to agree with ccmoore in his review regarding the manners and attitude of the staff .
I took my husband and son for there for sunday lunch ONCE for my husband 's birthday and was astonished at the rudeness of the waiting on staff .
I asked what was the soup of the day only to be told ''how do you expect me to know .'' !!!!!!!!! I don;t think my question was unreasonable when faced the general term ''soup of the day'' . I asked what meat was on the sunday roast only to be snapped at . ''Questions questions ..I suppose you want me to find that out too .''
Well yes basically ..I do .
My only consolation in being faced with paying for such rudeness , is that I have NEVER been back and have told people about the level of rudeness here , which is obviously losing it a significant amount of takings . Their own fault .

I went in here today with my business partner for a quick lunch. The menu was very good and reasonably priced. I had a duck pate and my business partner had breaded brie. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The landlord knew we were on a quick lunch so kindly told us that the pies are made to order so would take a while, which we thought was very helpful. The house white wine was beautifully chilled .
The whole place was very clean and when we asked the history of such an old place the landlord went to find us a book about it . Again very helpful.
A good visit. We will return when we are working in the area.
