The Black Boy, Winchester

I popped in to this little gem on my way home from work after reading the reviews and seeing how high the rating was.
A proper, English Pub. Amazing decor that you could spend weeks reading and looking at. Privately owned as well, and you can tell. Wonderful beers, great barmaids and full of character. Will be visiting again very soon.

Ship Inn, Owslebury

We had an interesting lunch here. Although the food was pleasant enough, with a eastern/Caribbean flavour, it just didn't feel right in a country pub in Hampshire. And it did take an age for it to arrive.
Could be an amazing pub with a little more attention to detail. Beer was very good but the coke was expensive and flat. Will return in the summer to try again because overall it was pleasant.

White Hart Inn, Stockbridge

Popped in a couple of weeks ago with out booking. Although we did enjoy the food and the beer we felt a little put out when walking in without a booking. Wasn't handled particularly well by the member of staff.
Overall though we will be going back as the food was good, beer was lovely and we both love the village.
Go for the pie!!

The Bugle Inn, Twyford

Visited this pub last night, and have to say i agree with the previous reviewer, "Exceptional".
My Partner had Scallops on a fennel & cauliflower puree, and it is to date her favorite meal of all time, My mussels were perfect as well. I had a pint of their own ale called Bugle ale and it was so good, as was the wine, we decided to leave the car there and get a taxi. Even though the place was heaving with eaters & drinkers and fully booked they managed to fit us in after a short wait. Great staff indeed.
Top class, top find & top marks all round. We usually eat at Hotel Du Vin, and i have to say this was better. Mr M Ford
