The Sutton Arms, Sutton

Seems safe enough here now compared to what it was and they have a good range of beers.

The Old Bank, Sutton

Doing well, I would of stayed only "her in doors" won't eat here..

The Cock and Bull, Sutton

I was in on saturday afternoon with the wife, she made me leave after our first drink. It's a lot rougher than it was but I feel it's been going that way for a while. She normally would of have had a meal when we are here but wasn't interested this visit. We nipped over to The Town House and had a bit their, it was OK but not great.

O'Neills, Sutton

I disagree with a couple of previous comments, I can't believe i'm saying it but I do like this place for the first time in years. Curiosity paid off by having a look and I think it's good to see such a change. Well done and this will now be, along with the Bank the only bars I drink in along the strip as long as it keeps the riff-raff out.

The New Town, Sutton

A pub that has really got its act together over the last few months, always a good crowd of people now, good to see. Hopefully they continue to keep the scum out

The Old Bank, Sutton

The Bank and The New Town are the only two pubs I want to drink in these days, the rest aren't worth it

Awful.

What's happened here, it's so expensive you need a mortgage to buy a beer. This was once a place to have a good meal and drink at but now I find the customers rough and with sky high prices taboot. Seems most of the old staff have left or have been squeezed out. It's a shame as this place was once one of the better pubs of Sutton, now well I'm not so sure.

The Old Bank, Sutton

The Bank seems to be improving back to it's good form, it was pretty busy when i was in earlier. Nice pint, staff, atmosphere and punters. It's really good to see..

was in tonight, my London Pride was nice though the pub was very quiet

Very Clique, it used to be a busy place but has died off over the years. Still they do keep a good pint.

The Cock and Bull, Sutton

I was in last night and the place doesn't seemed to have changed at all other than I would agree with the previous posts that the feeling with the loss of some staff has had a big effect. It did not seem a personnable as it had done prior, normally I would stay for a few but the wife and I left after one for The Windsor. My Pride was good.

I agree with the last poster, It's been a good pub to come to for the last few years. The ales are most of the time kept in top condition., Sutton as we all know unfortunetly does not have much to offer but Fuller's have done something great with this place. I feel they will make sure to keep it as it is, hopefully. It's hard to find somewhere comfortable in this town and my personal opinion is this is one of the few places. If the landlord is leaving well i hope it stays as it is.

The Grapes, Sutton

Cockney paul you strike me as at bit sad and lonely. The ales in here are tend to be in good condition when I've been in i.e last night. Actually cocney make that "very sad"..

The staff in here have always been hard working and helpful, it's a very clean pub and I've never had any problems with beer. The type of place you'd want to bring the family to for a good pub lunch. Good alround considering where it is.

The Robin Hood, Sutton

I was in here last Wednesday with a few work colleagues, it seems to have really dropped off the radar to be honest, we had drank there on many occasions in the past. The chaps behind the bar where nice don't get me wrong but then they had some chippy pulling the ceiling down around the place, should these sort of jobs not be carried out whilst shut, surely? It was after 5 and there was around 6 punters in there "at the most". We sat out the front as it was a better atmosphere than inside to be honest. We all had pints of special which was good. All i can say is I've heard some poor fool has aquired the lease recently, well i wish them the best of luck as their going to need it. we finished our pints and ventured upo to the High st.

I'm really quite surprised with some of the previous comments, I've been drinking here for a few years and have never to be honest been dissapointed. The ales are always tip top as is the food, it's the only non restaurant the my wife will eat at. My daughter meets up with her friends here at the weekend if she's out in Sutton as she feels it's an extremely safe place for them. The staff have always been great in the past and I haven't noticed anything different recently. Has been and I personnaly feel is without a doubt one of the best pubs in the town.

It's great to see the Bar Leeches seemed to have been moved on at last from this lovely pub, very much a food place now full of the local office workers. It seems to stand out above the Robin Hood since their decline of mangement recently which in a way is unfortunate as Sutton needs to hold on to it's safe, well run pubs. Good food but pretty expensive for dinks.

The Greyhound, Carshalton

Last poster has it ever occured to you that the barman felt that breaking up the crisp box was more riveting than having to be near some oddity like you? Maybe he was scared the minute you walked in the door and tried to avoid eye contact hoping you would take a hint and crawl back under your rock. For someone who dosen't like the place you strangely state you go there a lot, bloody weirdo.

The New Town, Sutton

I met my daughter in here last night, the Young's bitter was good but the language coming from where the table is was horrendous and none of the staff felt the need to have a word, I didn't see the new landlord/lady. We nipped to the Windsor instead which had a much more refinded and comfortable atmosphere. I suppose that's pool tables for you.

The Marquis of Granby, Epsom

I went here yesterday for lunch after being dragged around town shopping, I have to say the beer ( a Polish one ) and apparently a recent brand to the pub tasted like it was off, which I presume the pipes were dirty. Anyhow the food on the other hand was absolutley devine, yes DEVINE!! A pork Belly which melted in your mouth and a 21 day hung beef roast which was cooked beautifully. Some of the best food I've had in a life time. The service wasn't amazing but OK and there was a bit of a quiff from the bogs, it was a pity about the beer. It was surprisling quiet for a Sunday lunch, defenitly a place which should be heaving but isn't. I would return for food and probably order a bottled beer next time.

The Marlborough Head, Marble Arch

The Carpenters is more like 16 minutes away just off Edgeware road and is an absolute dump but yes different to the above overpriced dump..

The New Town, Sutton

Innocuos. It was empty at 7 o'clock where as the The Little Winsor was wall to wall. Sign of the times I suppose.

The Treasury, Sutton

my daughter somehow convinced me to have lunch with her here just before Xmas and to be honest it was fine. The food we had was ok, there was no real ale but I'm not sure any of their normal customers would care. Not for me but the food was very good.

The Grapes, Sutton

I popped in here for one on the way home last night and I have to say my pint was good but my god It felt like a mix of Village of the damned and that bar from Star Wars. I managed to hide myself in a corner as not to attract attention. I felt with it being quite busy from looking in and a couple of the previous reviews that it was a good sign but no chance. It's blatantly a lot easier to be on the dole these days or maybe there's been a huge baby boom in our area. A hangout for the many gutless & souless spongers of town, first time I've ever left a beer and it was a good beer. Just like the Moon best to be avoided.

11 Jan 2011 12:11

The Old Bank, Sutton

I've never had a bad pint in The Bank, an all round spot on pub really. The only thing I don't like is if someone is playing that Golf game and your stuck near it.

The Robin Hood, Sutton

One of very few great pubs in Sutton

The Cock and Bull, Sutton

Is it just me or does "billtheboozer's" review not seem a tad out of sorts of this place, compared to everyone elses reviews. How can everyone be complimenting both staff and pub so highly for a lifetime then this guy comes along and recieves such awful treatment. To back-up staff at the C&B I've been drinking their for over the last 4 years and have always been given a lovely welcome. Very odd this person states it's a badly managed pub but everyone else classes it as one of the best run pubs in Sutton. Staff of the C&B I would ignore his review. Someone who thinks The New Town is a great pub but your place is no good has serious alternative motives, me wonders are they connected somehow to said pub. Keep up the good work, this place is a diamond within the rough, well done!!
