The Royal Oak, Rusper

Pass the smelling salts! A real pub where they actually care about the beer and are friendly to the customers even if they are not locals. Highly recommended, exemplary range of ales as well as ciders and perrys. All in perfect condition. Run by very nice people and richly deserved to win if not get runner-up in the Camra competition. Don't tell too many people about it though.....

The Sir Roger Titchbourne, Alfold Bars

Allegedly this pub is reopening on April 1st and will be serving reasonably priced pub grub and serving Young's ales.

The Seahorse, Shalford

The Seahorse hasn't been a pubby pub since the 1970's - bring back Sid and Ursula and the darts board. However I think it is the best now that it has been for a long time. Have had numerous lunches and one evening meal there since it reopened and all have been excellent. The service is always friendly if a little slow and I don't think they quite grasp the concept of a lunch hour. Howver a Lithuanian chap did go and find out the footbsll score for us! The beer is just about OK, much better kept at the Jolly Farmer down the road at Bramley or the Grantley at Wonersh. But the area does need a decent pub to eat in and so far has been excellent quality and an interesting and changing menu. Worst thing - the nightmarish (excuse pun) huge pictures of horses heads.

Bankes Arms Hotel and Country Inn, Studland

A shame that the guaranteed tourist trade means that this pub can get away with really slovenly standards. Everything is pretty filthy from the tables to the loos. Always get the squits after eating here. Food varies from summer to summer but is generally pretty poor now, however fresh fish is good.

But just love the place, have been going for years and go to the beer festival every year, though the beer is not in as good condition at the festival as it used to be.

Staff and family are friendly and the garden with fab views over Studland Bay & Old Harry unbeatable. Watch out for the parakeets flying over but what happened to the chaffinches and sparrows?
