Chequers, Walthamstow

I take my son here for game of darts and we both love the place, friendly staff, decent atmosphere, and food is bloody good too.

If you ever in the area ignore first glance and grab a pint, ease yourself into the feel of the place and you will def be back another day.

The Pig and Whistle, Walthamstow

Been here on numerous occasions, im from the north and i know a good sunday roast when i see one, The carvery choice is fantastic and the little veg fusions ie mustard and parsley etc etc is great too, adds some interesting twists on a typical dinner.

The staff are very friendsly and helpful, place is very homely too.

I have taken friends there too and they loved it.

I been all over england with work etc and enjoy trying sunday roast dinners and carveries from dozens and dozens of pubs.

I gonna say this from the heart, the food is as close to my mothers roast dinners as can be and thats as good a compliment as i can give.

Big hand for everyone at this fine establishment.

The Corrib Rest, Queens Park

Been here on couple of occasions for quick pint and food, on both occasions i have been nothing but impressed, very typical irish homely feel to the place, very lively and enthusiastic sports fans add a unique atmosphere to this establishment.

Food is nothing short of top notch. Sunday roast is brilliant and does not take long to arrive. My only complaint is i dont live closer as to make it my local lol

Well dont to the whole pubs staff for making it a place you want to visit again and again !

The Elgin, Ladbroke Grove

I spent first 16 yrs of my life growing up with landlord parents, i know a bit about english pubs. Barman has bad attitude, hardman wanna be, sunday roast only takes approx 1 hour to arrive (yes really 1 bloody hour) and is very very below average, sunday roast without yorkshire puddings, does that even qualify as a sunday roast, not in my book.

Decent atmosphere, good mix of cultures all coming together.

If you fancy a drink go for it, if you fancy a sunday roast go elsewhere.............................please for your own sakes.
