O'Neills, Ealing

Typical O'neills. The toilets in here have always stunk and now theirs no smoke it does tend to make it's way into the bar.

The Star and Anchor, West Ealing

Looked fairly shut last time I passed

The North Star, Ealing

Great choice of beer but priced at a premium. Gets rammed on a Friday/Saturday night as you would expect for somewhere so near the station. Bar service is fairly slow. There have always been issues with the loos - I've lost count of the times they've been shut for refurbishment, yet they never seem to get the: working, loo roll and clean thing sorted. Still a nice place for a pint!

Red Lion, Ealing

Great atmosphere, good beer, the back garden is a great place to chill with a beer in the summer - although can get a bit busy. Food is also great, especially the chips. Recently introduced Pieminster pies with mash and peas on a Sunday, which are good, but not as good as the regular memory. Venue of choice for any sunny summer evening.

Grain Barge, Bristol

Great beer. Different location, nice views if you can get a seat on the top (although slightly scary misplaced hen night when we were there). Staff were really friendly.

The Clifton, Clifton

It's definitely glamed up a bit since I was a student. Much better use of the vast back bar, really funky decore, great beer and cider, knowledgable barman and good grub.

The Haygate, Wellington

Not the most glamorous establishment and poor choice of beer.

The Mytton and Mermaid, Atcham

Had (and heard of) really mixed experiences of this place. It does have a nice riverside location - also opposite Attingham Park, but really the buildings the wrong way round to make the most of it. Have had some really good food in bar and some ok in the restaurant - although given the prices the restaurant the service is very patchy. Beer is generally ok.

The Admiral Benbow, Shrewsbury

This place is great, big selection of English ales, but also various bottled European ales. Dead friendly. Hasn't been tarted up. Has a few different rooms. Really good atmosphere.
