The Orange Tree, Altrincham

The best word to describe this pub is 'innocuous'.
It lacks atmosphere, decent and / or cheap beer or an overpowering reason to visit. On the other hand it isn't offensive, loud or packed with idiots, it just doesn't do anything sufficiently well to warrant a recommendation.

As most comments state - alright if OMT too busy / band bad or it's raining!!

Railway Inn, Broadheath

I ventured back into this pub about a month ago (having not been in for several years) and was highly impressed with the Holts bitter which rivaled any of the cask ales you can get at other pubs in the area.

Yes, it's just a basic pub, but it does the basics well - it serves great beer at a reasonable price. I am now going to work this into my regular crawl.

The Old Market Tavern, Altrincham

Great range of real ales. Yes staffing is a problem on a Saturday, but then again you don't see the Landlord serving too often either, so what can you expect. great place for a pint or two, of a weekend, but the wait at the bar makes a longer stay unappealing.

Not too keen on the really heavy bands, but it's free live music so can't be too picky!

The Navigation, Broadheath

Have been a regular visitor to the pub for over 10 years, The beer/ lager is cheap, currently selling Carlsberg lager for 1.59 a pint . I have eaten in here regularly and have never had a bad meal.
A good pub to include in your pub crawl, if in the Broadheath area (local to tram stop) and runs a 'wicked' quiz on a Monday night @9.30.

The Station, Altrincham

All this Pub needs now is more customers. There is a decent range of beers and lagers including two cask ales, which are usually from a local brewery.
It has suffered from a legacy of poor managers but Janet is now beginning to turn it around. A big plus is that this is the one venue in Altrincham which has live music on a Friday.

The Malt Shovells, Altrincham

Alright, it could do with a good clean (and maybe a lick of paint if Sam Webster really wants to push the boat out), however, the beer is great value, the atmosphere is friendly and it should feature on any beer drinkers list of pubs to visit in Alty.
Clientele are the full range 16 to 80, but everyone gets on great!!

The Faulkners Arms, Altrincham

A lot better and cleaner pubs have closed in Altrincham over the last few months. The beer not kept particularly well nor is it particularly cheap. Not a place to drink or socialise in, but worth a visit for novelty value alone.

The Classroom, Altrincham

Not a beer drinkers Pub, only serves larger and in half pints. my better half tells me the cocktails are great, but at the prices they charge they should include the glass as well. Recent increase in price of over 10% - how can they justify that?
