Jolly Butchers, Stoke Newington

FIVE POUNDS FOR A PINT OF ALE.
That's all.

The Nicholas Nickleby, Stroud Green

I can't really say that the pubs around Stroud Green are any good.

The Larrik's shite, the F Fullback crowded and the others tend to attract the wrong crowd. The choice is extremely limited and you have to make do with the best of a bad bunch.

Yes - it might have been an off night but kids running around after 10pm. Blokes in their 40's with teenage girls. Bright lights, loud music. This boozer was something out of Shameless set in East Germany in 1978. First impressions usually count and all I can add is that the pub shouldn't have to be run like a NACRO centre.

The Orange Tree, Winchmore Hill

Just had a sunday roast, absolutely lovely, great value. What a pub, darts, pool table, big beer garden. Immediately felt an affinity with the place.

Well worth the walk.

The Nicholas Nickleby, Stroud Green

Concur fully with Chicky.

Very bright lights, loud music, chintzy decor and a few candidates for the Jeremy Kyle show. Needs sensitive gutting.

Shame that a great looking pub has all the charm of a flat-roofed estate pub.

Don't go here.

Fountain Inn, Gloucester

Great pub - one of Gloucester's finest. I always make a visit when up from London.

The home-made food is great, I like this place.

The Inn on the Green, Palmers Green

No sympathy pal - no minesweeping.

That bouncer's memory is commendable, you could have been chucked out for serious wrongdoing - the bouncer isn't expected to remember that you were an associate of a thief.

Let it go.

The Wishing Well, Palmers Green

My preferred boozer in N13. Didn't feel like I was intruding on anyone's local and felt comfortable in pub.

Loads of tellys, dartboard, quiz machine and fruity for passing the time. Friendly staff and patrons as well.

Whenever any friends are visiting N13 I'll take them to the Wishing Well.

Mollie Malone's, Crouch End

Shame about the miserable git in a postman's uniform who asked me not to swear when an important football match was on the telly. His daughter was mortified and went on to call him a f**king w**ker. I'm having trouble working that one out.

Dodgy clientele = dubious boozer.

Other then that I thought it was generally ok but I won't be spending any more money there.

The Harringay Arms, Crouch End

Great pub, most favoured in Crouch End.

Comments about new people going elsewhere though are unhelpful to the pub, its regulars and the new faces that become tomorrow's steadfast loyal drinkers.

The Stapleton Tavern, Finsbury Park

Shame about the high beer price duopoly between the larrik and dairy. was aware of the 3+ per pint at the larrik, thought the dairy could have undercut the immediate competition but at 2.90 there seems to be little between them.

Its only Stroud Green.
