The Cricketers, Cobham

can't understand why the rating is so low. Location is excellent. Beer's fine too & food again quite good.
Just gets too crowded in good weather

The Kings Arms, Hampton Court

We didn't get a very friendly reception when we turned up for the Daily Telegraph Promtional 2 for 1 meal offer - because we had not phoned ahead; then he agreed but rather ungraciously - so we didn't bother & went elsewhere.
Otherwise there are some nice beers & a lovely log fire.

The Bell, East Molesey

How disappointing that such a famous historic pub can have been allowed to go downhill so much.
It seems to be constantly changing managers & staff.
Food is mediocre & service usually slow.
On the bright side there is some nice real ale on tap.

Marneys Village Inn, Weston Green

food has become much more expensive over the last year or two & the quality is not consistent enough to justify this in my view. None the less the location is charming on a fine day

The Albany, Thames Ditton

Completly refurbished March 2006. Now a rather trendy "gastropub"/restaurant.

Minimalist decor, good service, food & ambience.

We paid 68 for 2; Seared scallops, duck leg & a bottle of Brouilly. it was pretty full on a Thursday -but we were pleased with our 38th Wedding Anniversary celebration

However there were plenty of the young set there too.

Access is not good as the approach road is full of parked cars leaving only one lane.

If this pub is full, try the other Thames Ditton Gastropub, the Crown. Steer clear of the Old Swan - very chav/Chef & Brewerish!!

The Cap in Hand, Hook

Good beer. Amazing value food - particularly Thursday curry night.
Clientele a very mixed bunch but the no smoking "library" area is very civilised

The Running Mare, Cobham

A lovely little pub - nice ambience inside + good beer garden with lots of outside tables. Pleasant staff & better than average food.

The Albany, Thames Ditton

nicely "themized" as a "traditional" pub with bare wood floors, comfortable furniture and a nice if somewhat shady balcony on the river.

However on a nice day it gets very overcrowded & service from the kitchen can be dreadfully slow. Last Sunday - roast off and a wait of 1.5 hours!

The Crown, Thames Ditton

Now more a smart restaurant than pub with a good, imaginative , if rather expensive menu.

However one can still get good Real Ale (Timothy Taylors Landlord) so it's just up my street
