Absolutely fantastic place. Just to think about the selection of ales makes me salivate. The food is great also, though I would advise a couple of days starvation prior to eating here so as to be able to fit it all in.
My only qualm with the place is the price. But still, a pub that I would recommend to anybody!

Strange, small pub. Not a terrible place but not a good one, in my experience either. The beer was expensive and the music unnecessarily loud, so much so that it was distorted. This is not a place I would recommend to friends.

The Moon in the Square, Bournemouth
This place is an absolute sham. The bar staff are incompetent so getting served, even at an empty bar, proves difficult. Several times now I've been served beer in absolutely filthy glasses with no apology.
I complained to Wetherspoons who said they were dealing with the issues at this place but still no improvements have been made. The bar staff are slow, the bouncers would rather start a fight than stop one and the place is still filthy.
If you take a trip to the Wetherspoons on Poole Quay you will see that not all of these pubs are so terrible.
It all boils down to the fact that this place is ineptly managed!

The Portman, Bournemouth
A rather depressing atmosphere and decor. The bar staff are surly and the ale they serve is badly kept. This is of course if you can even get past the uninterrupted row of locals sat around the bar, who are not very keen that you should get a drink.
I only go here for the green room which I would recommend if you like to watch endless, numbingly boring, crap and overly self-assured bands. Unfortunately my friends do. Otherwise I would steer well clear of this dive.
