The Bulls Head, Barston

Very poor beer, it tastes watered down, and very expensive, run down decor, intimidating locals who get served before non locals, a load of noisy chavs in the corner betting on the horses which was on the tv screen. quite a disappointment all in all. Won't be coming back.

Fountain Inn, Clent

rude manager who letches over his young bar staff, not a pub at all. avoid it at all costs

The Cidershed, Norwich

The Belgian Monk, Norwich

confused about opening hours, but the selection of trappist ales is second to none, and the food, WOW, huge and lovely. Wild boar or wild mussels, you wont be hungry, plus they sell the glasses, which is great if you collect beer glasses like i do!!!. the taste of abroad in norwich, silght shame about the price but hey ho

The Adam and Eve, Norwich

if you like your historical pubs as i do then this is a good pub, lots of little rooms etc, small selection of ales, worth a visit for one or two, especially in winter to see if you meet the "ghost". p.s. the ghost walk is a bit crap seeing as he doesnt talk about norwich ghosts much but about ghost from other parts of england!, bu thats nothing to do with this pub at all.

The Artful Dodger, York

tis ok, 6/10 for beer

The Old House At Home, Harborne

cant even watch the foodball here any more cause the only people who visit this pub these days are the coffin dodgers on a sunday for their dry meat and frozen peas, yummy!!!!

The New Inn, Harborne

lovely boozer, hope it doesnt change

The Junction, Harborne

in a word, best real ale pub and best atmosphear on the harborne hight street i feel. Oh and if the managment read this, can i have the great western railway bench that you keep outside??????????????? pretty please?????????????????

The Court Oak, Harborne

not as good since with was taken over by sizzlers im afriad, less of an ale selection.

The Bell Inn, Harborne

its ok, nice building i guess, but the ale selection is lacking a bit, id say a bit overpriced but it is a lovely location right but the 15th century church etc, with a rural feel, I just feel it is missing that zing to make it from a good pub to an excellent pub, visit yourself and see if you agree with me?

The Wellington, Birmingham

in a word, best real ale pub in brum, with the best selection of ales and best atmosphear

16 Jul 2011 01:58

The Coach and Horses, Weatheroak Hill

im not a "local" but always been treated well here, id say along with the wellington in birmingham, this is the best real ale pub in the west mids, great beer and lovely summer location, Locally brewed ales are lovely and good priced, well worth a visit on a sunny afternoon.

The Peacock Inn, Forhill

used to be a fave of ours, however, the change seems to have brought in bland ales and i can not comment about the food, the atmosphear has changed, shame as it was a really really nice country pub. lets hope the management read this and make it more of a real ale pub again eh? x

The Old Hare and Hounds, Rednal

great pub for a chain, good choice of ales, just dont go on a friday or sat night, as its larger boy city there. That said, the sunday night quiz is AMAZING, and the highlight of my week. Big up to the landlord/quizmaster who is a lovely guy and very friendly. Best local pub in miles and miles

The Black Horse Hotel, Northfield

lovely building, bar staff uninformed about the ales they stock and seem like they would rather have a chat than serve the public. That said its a Wetherspoons and as a result its a cheap pint, though not the seletion avaliable at other wetherspoons. You must visit the unpstairs just to see the building. Overall a nice boozer, shame its in northfield.

Lifeboat Inn, St Ives

not a "bad pub" but the beer does not seem as well kept as other local pubs, more of a family pub with an emphasis on food, we didnt try the food but the fish pie looked massive and very tasty, so id guess more of a family food pub than a pub for the ale enthusiast, quite noisy with erm, larger drinking types, big TV screens and make sure the bar staff know you are the next in line to be served, when we went two larger swilling pigs decided to push in, and despite my protests the bar staff did not have the spine to serve me first.

16 Jul 2011 01:36

The Sloop Inn, St Ives

nice pub with excellent views of st ives bay, lovely location, good pint of doom bar, but otherwise the ale selection is limited, dont let this put you off as the sloop is a nice pub but can be very crowded as it has the best view of any st ives pub. could do with some new local ales and ciders, but worth a visit as is the castle inn in st ives.

The Castle Inn, St Ives

great local pub, quick turn over of good beers, very friendly and a good quiz on a monday night. Good real ale pub and has many local real ciders too, cant wait until i can visit again next year
