The comment below's obviously from some old fogey. as I said before Squares is brilliant. it's been around for ages so I hear, previously wall street. Bars only last if people buy drinks there! That says it all.......

The food is s**t. Generally uncooked, arrive late or don't arrive at all. Waiters all seem to be p****d off and moody. I've been 3 times, would have chosen a different venue after the first experience but ad no choice as over 20 of us - never again!

The Hush Lounge, Preston

Better recentally after changing hands - again! The cocktails are great but that's about it. Promotional flyers say hush is the only cocktail bar in preston (bit of a white lie). The "too" slutty dancers have been known to scare of the bravest of female students. Eww... too close for comfort

The Grey Friar, Preston

strange as there's no music - must be the only place in town that doesn't have it blasting out! Cheap

Bar Censsa, Preston

Alright. Pricey cocktails especially saturdays. Good starting point though if you're at that end of town and fancy a few before hitting squires, just round the corner. Not enough seating and takes ages to get served at the weekend when all the middle aged (no offence) come out to party. Dead during the week when all the students are raving at the other end of town.

Fantastic bar for all ages. Has been my favourite start to a crawl since sneeking about town at 16. The cocktails are brilliant and I like the hugh screen zooming in on people around the bar. Comfy leather sofas to relax on. Saturdays especially are really busy so there's lots of atmosphere (down side is busy bar). Pretty sophistocated but fun too, and the music's not bad at all. If it's yah birthday a gorgeous, fit staff member will do press ups over you on the bar while making you a cocktail. Topless! Mmmm.......
