The White Horse, Soho

During the week (esp. Thu & Fri) full to bursting point, best place is the cobbles outside. Can be a bit full of the Hoxton Tw*ts that have moved from Clerkenwell to Soho in the last few years. Weekend, dead. Has a decent selection of booze at the bar, plenty of room inside and out. Heaters outside for the winter and a room upstairs with leather sofas to hire.

The Nobody Inn, Newington Green

Great pub, lots of room, two pool tables, sports tv, quiz on a thursday night. Does pub grub too, that's better than what you get in the chain pubs.

Only problem is that aggressive lesbians can spoil your enjoyment.

The Harp, Covent Garden

Decent pub with a large front that can be opened out. Sells cigs behind the bar, 20 for a fiver can't be bad.

The Marquis of Granby, Covent Garden

Full of overspill from the Pitcher and Piano and the cop shop down the road, you're better off in The Lemon Tree or the Harp next door.

The Lemon Tree, Covent Garden

Never too full, never too empty. The nearby All Bar One traps all the chavs and city types. Clientelle is either people from the ENO, Frontline TV or the odd police.

Has drinks shelves outside for those of you who can bear the weather. Don't know how good the Thai food is but the lady that makes it is a laugh.
