The Board Inn, Whitby

Had a pint of Old Peculier here after visiting the abbey. Interesting decor and a tad touristy but it was a good pint and they had some quality old music. Recommend.

18 Sep 2017 16:22

Clarks Bar, Edinburgh

A very old fashioned place full of character. as previous posters have said. Had a good pint of the Belhaven Festival Ale here yesterday. It was quiet but I liked it a lot. Smashing fish and chip place round the corner too.

22 Aug 2017 11:29

George and Dragon Inn, Clifton

Poshest pub I've ever been in- I'm surprised they let me in. I think it's because the owners of Askham Hall also own the pub. The beer was good though- barman served me an IPA straight from the barrel which was very pleasant. Clifton is a nice wee village with some interesting historical sites.

15 May 2017 13:00

Moo Bar, Penrith

Very regrettably, now closed.

15 May 2017 12:55

Tennents Bar, Glasgow

I like Tennents but they never seem to a do any real ale stronger than 4.5%, which is disappointing. And of course you have to fight your way to the bar. I end up drinking in Curlers more often, which obviously is more expensive.

20 Sep 2016 13:27

Sir John Moore, Glasgow

To be fair the tall guy with the beard behind the bar is always very pleasant to me and likes to discuss the ales which are on. Not my favourite local 'Sppons but not bad nonetheless.

31 Mar 2016 20:51

The Bell, Walton On The Hill

Jeezo, must stop reading this website at work. That last post made me laugh out loud. Pissinthecupboard, you are a ledge.
I knew a bloke who lived in Walton-on-the-Hill and this was his favourite pub.

29 Jan 2016 15:44

The Duke of Wellington, Hoxton

Great pub lovely pub, and them Kray twins, they weren't that bad after all, only killed their own ...

24 Jan 2016 21:17

The Vale, Glasgow

I find it curious that a spit and sawdust place opposite Queen Street station now does three very decent real ales. Had a fine pint of Strathaven Ales Craigmillar Gold tonight. I'l have to miss my train more in future.

13 Jan 2016 21:35

Platform 3, Linlithgow

Had a good pint of Cairngorm Stag in here before going to see the Rosey Posey play the Loons yesterday, and half of the Alchemy Ritual Pale Ale after the game- wanted a pint but it was going off. A nice beer nonetheless. Good place- my second favourite in Linlithgow after The Four Marys.

10 Jan 2016 18:14

The Burrell Arms, Haywards Heath

I agree it's OK for a station pub. I had the Broadside too which was perfectly fine. The woman behind the bar was pleasant and even accepted my Scottish fiver, which is unusual.

22 Dec 2015 12:14

Cloisters Bar, Edinburgh

The Great Heck Shankar IPA was in top nick when I called in yesterday. Only had half a pint as it is 5.9%. The Swannay Brewery Scapa Special wasn't so special, but this is a great pub and well worth seeking out.

13 Nov 2015 13:52

The Captain James Lang, Dumbarton

Pleasant High Street 'Spoons pub- busy for a Wednesday lunchtime when I visited, I had a very good pint of oatmeal stout from Black Wolf Brewery. 4.5%- should have had a few more.

13 Nov 2015 10:04

Neptune, Hove

I liked this place too. Five real ales on, but I just had the one pint of an NZ IPA. Can't remember the brewery but it was 5.5% so not I think Hawkshead. Good stuff though. We made it out before the band came on (Dirty Shoes).

18 Aug 2015 16:50

Moo Bar, Penrith

Despite the silly name this is a great place. The guy behind the bar is very good and I had a nice local beer, porter and a strong one for the road. Got to be the best place in Penrith.

26 Apr 2015 19:21

The Agricultural, Penrith

I liked the place, though it was very busy last night. The Snecklifter was in excellent nick.

26 Apr 2015 19:15

The Rifleman Inn, Epsom

Well said Bob. The two Canadian soldiers who were arrested here for drunkenness in 1919 were taken to Epsom police station, which was besieged by hundreds of their compatriots in an effort to free them. In the ensuing melee Station Sergeant Thomas Green was killed. He's buried in Ashley Road Cemetery in Epsom. Funnily enough both his daughters emigrated to Canada and married local men.

12 Mar 2015 12:50

The Mid Calder Inn, Mid Calder

Hmmm. Re last 4 reviews- Roland alert!!!

20 Feb 2015 15:48

Thomson's, Edinburgh

Popped in last Monday on the way back to Haymarket from The Hanging Bat. I had a pint of the Alechemy Citra Burst- a bit steep at £3.95 but very nice. I'll always call in here when in Edinburgh.

25 Jan 2015 21:00

Edward Wylie, Glasgow

There appeared to be an Oakham Ales takeover tonight. After the travel issues I felt in need of a couple of pints of the Green Devil IPA (6%) and a half of Attila (7.5%), Wonderful stuff.

9 Jan 2015 19:53

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

Just been in for a pint of the 10% Thomas Sykes Old Ale, from Burton Bridge. Any more of that and it will be a Happy New Year, what I remember of it.

31 Dec 2014 18:31

The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh

Was in here with Dave the Rave before and after the Hibs- Thistle game. They had 4 beers from the Tyne Bank Brewery on, at £2.50 a pint. The Silver Dollar was excellent, and then we got stuck in to the Heavely Porter, which is very aptly named.

8 May 2014 12:36

The White Horse, Parsons Green

I think, in response to the last post, it's because Traquair House is a 7% seasonal ale, only on in winter. I remember asking for it yonks ago and the American barman went away to check. He came back and said 'It's not on for another 9 months'. I said 'I'll wait'. That was a long 9 months, propping up the bar.

18 Mar 2014 12:04

The Sheeps Heid Inn, Duddingston

A very good meal, fine service, two lovely pints of Top of the Hops and a game of skittles afterwards. Pretty busy when we left, but justifiably so.

8 Mar 2014 19:09

The Bow Bar, Edinburgh

Winter Beer Festival on when I called in yesterday afternoon. I had the Highland Long Way IPA, the Alechemy Panacea (7.5%) and half of the Green Jack Baltic Trader (10.5%). Lovely stuff, albeit on the strong side.

6 Feb 2014 13:39

The Glamorgan, Croydon

Popped in on Christmas Eve and had a pint of Cronx Entire Stout. A nice place- bare boards, lots of wines, bit of a gastropub but a pleasant welcome from the big guy behind the bar and free mince pies. Hope to visit again.

28 Dec 2013 15:12

The Big Blue, Glasgow

My new favourite place after a visit to Firhill. There's usually an obscure 7% beer on and a couple of these will help me forget the result.

5 Dec 2013 13:46

The Philharmonic, Liverpool

A staggering place, more like a stately home than a pub. A good selection of beers and we had the Brahms room to ourselves.

1 Sep 2013 19:20

The Philharmonic, Liverpool

A staggering place, more like a stately home than a pub. A good selection of beers and we had the Brahms room to ourselves.

1 Sep 2013 19:20

The Philharmonic, Liverpool

A staggering place, more like a stately home than a pub. A good selection of beers and we had the Brahms room to ourselves.

1 Sep 2013 19:20

Ye Cracke, Liverpool

We visited the Anglican Cathedral and popped in here on the way to The Philharmonic. I had a pint of the Phoenix Brewery Wobbly Bob, a good 6 percenter. I liked this place- don't think it's changed much since John Lennon used to drink here.

1 Sep 2013 19:18

The White Lion, Hampton in Arden

We had a very pleasant Sunday lunch here- the food was good (the whitebait with a hollandaise sauce was nice), as was the beer (Ubu Purity and Hobsons). The service was a bit ditzy but no complaints overall.

12 Aug 2013 18:21

The Wellington, Birmingham

16 beers on last weekend but the strongest was only 5%. All in good nick though. I had the 3 Black Country beers.

12 Aug 2013 17:54

The Boat Inn, Lichfield

Bit of a gastropub, but 3 real ales on and I had the veg curry which was good value at £5.95. Recommended.

12 Aug 2013 17:52

The Hope, Carshalton

Visited on Saturday afternoon for the 'Summer Wind' beer festival. I think the Brodie's stout gave me the summer wind, but the 6% IPA from the London Brewers' Alliance was very nice.

29 Jul 2013 13:25

The Harbour Bar, Kirkcaldy

Nice old fashioned pub with 6 ales on yesterday. I had two pints of the Arran Brewery Dug- a good 5.5% IPA. As previous reviewers have said it is a bit of a walk from the town centre but well worth it. I had a bracing walk along the seafront to San Starko, but the chuffing game was off!

10 Feb 2013 09:56

Cloisters Bar, Edinburgh

This is a wonderful pub. Visited for the first time yesterday and had two beers from the Ayr Brewing Company, one a 6 % Raspberry Stout. They were excellent. Food looks good too. I found the staff friendly enough, and they brought out a bowl of water for a very cute King Charles Cavalier spaniel puppy, though she wasn't interested. Will most definitely be back.

6 Jan 2013 17:13

Greyfriars Bobby's Bar, Edinburgh

Had a nice pint of Cropton's Hawaii in here yesterday before visiting the museum across the road. It is a Nicolson's pub and a tad touristy, as said before, but they had about 5 real ales on and the food looked good. I'd recommend it if you're in this part of town.

22 Sep 2012 12:33

The Hope, Wandsworth Common

Had a pleasant couple of pints here on Monday afternoon- some interesting beers on, but I thought the Hawkshead Windermere Pale Ale, though good, was a bit steep at 3.85 (for a 3.7%-er).

23 Aug 2012 13:38

The Taybank, Dunkeld

Visited yesterday and there were two beers from a local brewery, Strathbraan. I had the Due East (the other was Head South, I think- perhaps that was what they were trying to tell me). A very pleasant 4.2% session beer.

7 Aug 2012 12:25

The Moulin Inn, Moulin

I agree (though to split hairs I would point out 'whisky' is Scottish and 'whiskey' is Irish). I had the Moulin Light, the Braveheart and the Old Remedial, which were all very good. Cracking lunch too- no wonder it was pretty rammed for a Monday. Lovely building with hanging baskets, etc.

7 Aug 2012 12:21

Hengler's Circus, Glasgow

So I had two pints listed in the programme for the beer festival, both at 1.55. They were fine, but then I found a beer from the Isle of Skye, Cuillin Beast, so had a half of that. A 7% beer for 1.55 a pint!!! Unbelievable.

20 Mar 2012 13:48

Counting House, Glasgow

I was in here with Big Dave last night, and there were four beers from Butcombe and four from Hawkshead Brewery. There must have been about 15 handpumps in all. All the beers I had were good, but the New Zealand Pale Ale from Hawkshead was stellar (and I don't mean Artois).

8 Feb 2012 21:05

The Guide Dog, Bevois Valley

Visited on Saturday night on the recommendation of this site. There were seven ales on and I had the Dark Star Hophead and the Flowerpots Goodens Gold, which were both good. Very nice friendly backstreet pub- if it was my local I wouldn't leave.

23 Jan 2012 18:59

The Cardinal, Victoria

I was also in here on Thursday afternoon, from 12.00 till 16.30. There were a few noisy groups in (mine was older and a bit more sedate). The OBB was pleasant and the food OK, but I wouldn't make a bee line for here for either the food or beer. Getting served was indeed a problem- there was only one person serving and another doing the food.

19 Dec 2011 12:34

The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool

Quite a tatty place and only one person serving, but the Wapping Stout is good.

24 Nov 2011 22:17

The Ben Nevis, Glasgow

Had a nice pint of Tryst Amarillo here yesterday before the heavens opened. A slightly odd, dark place with a very high ceiling. There always seem to be a few dogs in here.

22 Jul 2011 15:22

The Stags Head, Dumbarton

Quite a friendly place. The gents smells a bit and there's no real ale, but you can't argue with Staropramen at 2.75 a pint.

20 Jul 2011 11:14

Walkabout, Wimbledon

Carly Simon?? Linda Ronstadt??? You into necrophilia or something?

12 Jul 2011 12:53

Jinglin' Geordie, Edinburgh

The guest beer (Skyelight) was off on Saturday- tasted like vinegar- but they replaced it with a pint of Deuchars (yawn) and were very nice about it. I prefer the Halfway House, but it's usually rammed in there.

12 Jul 2011 12:50

The Colonies, Westminster

When I used this pub whilst working in Buckingham Gate years ago the landlord looked like Ken Bates. He wasn't pleased if you told him so (understandable, really). It was a reasonable place though.

7 Jul 2011 12:35

The Richmond Arms, West Ashling

Four of us had a cracking meal here last Saturday lunchtime. Nice and empty as the crowds were all at Goodwood. I had smoked mackerel fillets and two pints of Harveys- Armada and Copperwheat. It's pretty gastro but you get what you pay for. Pleasant walk round the village pond afterwards- black swans, ducks with their babies, geese and all.

4 Jul 2011 12:15

Curlers Tavern, Glasgow

Good pint of Harviestoun American IPA yesterday- a hoppy 5%- though I was surprised to be given a dimpled mug. It was also quite expensive, but I like the look of the new place. A bit gastro-ey but an improvement on the old student shop.

20 Jun 2011 12:41

The State Bar, Glasgow

Can't understand why people bang on about Deuchars when there are mpre interesting and exotic beers to be had in The State, Bon Accord, etc. Hey ho.

31 May 2011 15:56

The Bacchus, Newcastle

I agree with previous posts- a terrific pub. I was in last Sunday night and had the Rivet Catcher, a 4.5% stout and a Welsh beer (Inn Stable?- I really should take notes) which was 6.8%. I think the last, the most expensive, was 3.50. Very clean and stylish and a big selection of Belgian beers. Blimey I'm thinking of moving to Newcastle.

18 May 2011 12:56

Woodrow Wilsons, Carlisle

They had some Allendale and Dent beers on a recent visit. I had the Allendale Swift and the Dent T'owd Tup, the latter a 6% beauty. This is a very good place, though surrounded by some pretty ghastly hostelries on Botchergate.

16 May 2011 18:54

The Manor Arms, Clapham

I found this place by accident when looking for the Bread and Roses a couple of Fridays ago. I found it perfectly OK- friendly, not too crowded, reasonable beer selection- my Purbeck IPA was fine at 3.25.

10 Mar 2011 14:46

The Munns Vaults, Glasgow

Hmmm. The pies are a nice touch but the beer is still gnats'. I guess it's an improvement of sorts.

9 Mar 2011 16:20

The James Watt, Greenock

Actually not a bad 'Spoons in an attractive high-ceilinged old building. The Fyne Ales Vital Spark was good, but topped by the James Watt, a beer produced by Strathaven Ales for Wetherspoons. Should've stayed here and not bothered going to Cappielow.

23 Feb 2011 12:07

Tennents Bar, Glasgow

Couple of good pints here yesterday afternoon- Robinsons' Hannibal Nectar and Batemans' Hooker. It was rammed as usual.

13 Feb 2011 18:10

The State Bar, Glasgow

There were seven beers by Stewart's of Edinburgh on yesterday- I thought the pub had been taken over by Stewart's, but apparently not. I had two- the SRA (4%) which was fine, and then a 6.2% stout- Cauld Reekie. It was chuffing gorgeous. I like this place a bunch.

6 Feb 2011 17:18

The Munns Vaults, Glasgow

Hope the pies compensated for the result. Bit of a mauling.
I was watching a couple play snooker last night in here and they were having the pies too.

19 Jan 2011 16:56

The Starbank Inn, Edinburgh

On the strength of yesterday's visit, I'd recommend this place to anyone. There were 8 real ales on. I had a very good pint of Trade Winds and a half of Williams' Midnight Sun which was excellent. Food and service were also very good.

6 Jan 2011 11:23

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

I had two Brewdog pints yesterday evening- Rip Tide (8%) and Hardcore IPA (9.2%). They were very good but hard work- not really session beers. Good job I got a lift home.

26 Nov 2010 10:44

Volunteers Arms, Musselburgh

A nice looking wood pannelled interior and three separate rooms. All old blokes in there yesterday afternoon so I didn't feel out of place. I had two Dark Star beers- Hophead and American Pale Ale- which were both good.

7 Nov 2010 09:16

The James Watt, Greenock

Three months in Greenock?? You poor sod- must have been a serious offence.

17 Oct 2010 19:26

The Blackfriars, Glasgow

On a slightly sour note, there were only three ales on yesterday and the strongest was 4.1%. Had the Inveralmond Independence which was fine(3.8%), but fancied something stronger. Ended up drinking a bottle of IPA from Colorado- 400 lb Monkey- a hoppy 6.8%.

10 Oct 2010 16:30

The Hope, Carshalton

And his hair was perfect.

8 Oct 2010 12:21

The Evening Star, Brighton

And of course the Dark Star brewery is named after a song by The Grateful Dead.

8 Sep 2010 12:20

The Commodore, Helensburgh

I had a pint of RCH Porter here (3) on Saturday afternoon. It was very nice indeed.

6 Sep 2010 10:02

The Falcon, Clapham Junction

I think the Falcon is bigger and airier than the Horse Shoe, with a higher ceiling. Either way it's a cracking pub.

6 Aug 2010 13:39

The Phoenix, Denmark Hill

There used to be a strange little bald bloke who would come in here and randomly finish off people's drinks. I think he was an outpatient at the local mental hospital. This would have been about 20 years ago. The management couldn't get him out quick enough before someone thumped him.

15 Jul 2010 13:08

The John O'Gaunt, Lancaster

Seems a bit rough and ready, but good pint of Lancaster Blonde yesterday afternoon.

13 Jun 2010 17:11

The Tappit Hen, Dunblane

Had a very pleasant time at the beer festival here on Saturday. All 2.50 a pint, though no Scottish beers, funnily enough. I tried 12 and got the T-shirt.

24 May 2010 12:57

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

Three drinking areas? There's a raised bit in one corner, and some seats aound the wall in another corner, but I'd call this a one-bar pub.
Great place though.

11 May 2010 20:40

Three Craws, Glasgow

This is part of a chain- Ember Inns. 4 real ales on tonight. The Timothy Taylor's Landlord was fine, slightly better than the Ringwood's Fortyniner I had after. An OK place and next to Jordanhill station.

8 May 2010 20:21

The Two Brewers, Tottenham

An abundance of pus? Aye right.

6 May 2010 20:56

The Last Post, Paisley

Had an exceptional pint of Otter Mild (3.8%) here last night en route to having my nuts frozen off at Firhill.
Roll on the Paisley Beer Festival.

20 Apr 2010 13:35

Edward Wylie, Glasgow

Again, it's annoying when they don't turn the clips around when the beer is off. On Saturday afternoon I asked for the Edward Wylie (a Strathaven beer) and the Kingsdown Ale, only to be told both were off. Turn those chuffing clips around!
Nothing else worth having and I left in a huff.

6 Apr 2010 16:28

The Cobden View, Crookes

They used to have 'What a Difference a Day Makes' by Esther Philips on the jukebox here. Great song.

29 Mar 2010 13:48

Hallamshire House, Sheffield

This was one of my locals when I lived in Sheffield about 450 years ago. It was a cracking little Wards pub then, and I remember the games rooms, the two mad Irish setters and the (occasional) potman with Alzheimers who supported Nottingham Forest. He was a fan of Trevor Francis but he never called him that. I guess he's collecting glasses in the sky now.

29 Mar 2010 13:44

Hengler's Circus, Glasgow

Pretty good for a 'Spoons and just opposite The State.

27 Mar 2010 22:28

The Woodside Inn, Glasgow

No real ale but not that bad. Honest.

27 Mar 2010 22:24

The Wise Monkey, Glasgow

Now its The Wise Monkey. Good pint of Caledonian 80 shillings this lunchtime. They do gigs as well.

27 Mar 2010 22:21

The Clockwork Beer Co., Glasgow

The Red Alt is definitely an acquired taste. Bit chemically for me, but only 2.30 a pint. They do a 6% stout for 2.60- only had a half the other lunchtime but I'll give it another go.
Shame the mighty Spiders lost again.

8 Mar 2010 15:59

The Norfolk, Colchester

You wouldn't be a Hartlepool fan by any chance?

4 Feb 2010 13:17

Coopers, Glasgow

The smell's OK now. Only Greene King IPA on the last time I was in- some more real ales would mark it higher for me.

27 Jan 2010 15:00

Waxy O'Connor's, Glasgow

Big barn of a place with incomprehensible staircases leading all over the place and no real ale. Can't comment on the food.

27 Jan 2010 14:58

The Munns Vaults, Glasgow

Closest pub to Firhill. Alas it's the world's biggest pooh-hole.

21 Jan 2010 14:21

The Wise Monkey, Glasgow

Shut down last time I went past.

21 Jan 2010 14:20

Coopers, Glasgow

Had a couple of pints of Loch Fyne Ales' Holly Daze here yesterday lunchtime. It was in good nick. This is a pleasant high ceilinged pub with Sky Sports and plenty of studenty magazines. The smell from the gents' is a bit powerful if you sit down that end.

10 Jan 2010 21:06

The Blackfriars, Glasgow

Nice pint of Dark Star Winter Solstice yesterday, and a friendly barman who's a fan of Dark Star beers.

6 Jan 2010 15:37

The Old Fountain, Old Street

Magic- it's good to know there's someone nearly as daft (and appeciative of good ale) as me and bongobilly.
Must visit the Old Fountain. Shame I live 400 miles away.

12 Dec 2009 18:40

The Old Fountain, Old Street

Blimey I must try Rubish Beer. As long as it's not from Foriga. Wonder if it's like Sarah Hughes Dark Rubish Mild?

9 Dec 2009 20:08

The Old Fountain, Old Street

I hate Forigen People. I hate everyone from Foriga.

9 Dec 2009 14:14

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's ...

30 Nov 2009 15:48

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

Sorry, Edward Wylie

30 Nov 2009 15:01

The Bon Accord, Glasgow

I'm a regular here too and I've never had a problem with the beer. Maureen even let me have a pint of Skullsplitter on Friday- just the one, obviously. If you don't like the place, and I don't know why, you could try The Three Judges, Blackfriars, The State Bar, Tennents, some decent Wetherspoons such as The Esquire House, Hengler's Circus, Edward Morley ...

30 Nov 2009 13:05

The Griffin, Carlisle

It was chav central when I was in on Saturday night. The Mordue's Workie Ticket was good, though.

9 Nov 2009 12:32

The Trinity Arms, Brixton

Best job I never had. Shame Young's has gone to pot.

6 Nov 2009 09:48

The Queens, Primrose Hill

Given that Arsenal is a local team and Liverpool isn't, this seems right. Not that I support either of them.

5 Nov 2009 12:33

The Trinity Arms, Brixton

I worked down the road in Brighton Terrace for 8 years in the 1980's, and this was the best pub in the world, let alone Brixton. Can't wait to visit again.

29 Oct 2009 17:11

Crystal Palace, Glasgow

The upstairs bar is less zoo-like and is nice if you can get one of the tables near the window. Totally different beer selection from downstairs.

25 Oct 2009 21:20

The Drum and Monkey, Glasgow

Only been Deuchars and Dark Island when I've been in. Food's OK though.

25 Oct 2009 21:18

The Calthorpe Arms, Holborn

A handsome, historic pub. The inquest into the death of PC Robert Culley in 1833, the first policeman to be killed in a riot, was held in an upstairs room here.

19 Oct 2009 16:16

The Last Post, Paisley

Oldboots is right- they do some interesting real ales and the beer is good. I like the Dutch bloke behind the bar. I'd go in there early doors but not late at night- some of the clientele are, as stated, decidedly dodgy.

16 Oct 2009 11:29

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

I'll pop in tomorrow night after we've beaten Ayr and see if he's still playing for Ipwich

16 Oct 2009 10:36

The Castle, Tooting Broadway

Does Pythagoras still drink there?

13 Oct 2009 12:35

The Oxford Bar, Edinburgh

Always have the Trade Winds in here- it's excellent.

12 Oct 2009 13:10

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

Well, I've never seen Terry France behind the bar

9 Oct 2009 22:00

The Lansdowne, Glasgow

3.65 for a pint of Red Stripe on a recent visit, but the guy next to me was charged 8.30 for two pints of Peroni!! Surely the most expensive pint in Glasgow outside a 5* hotel.
I do like the seats with the individual TVs though.

9 Oct 2009 15:26

The Partick Tavern, Glasgow

It's been OK when I've visited to watch the football. Clean and the food looks alright. No real ale, though there is Leffe in bottles.

9 Oct 2009 15:17

The Harcourt Arms, Marylebone

5.40 for a pint of Leffe? Jeezo, pass the biscuits Moranty!

9 Oct 2009 12:33

Tennents Bar, Glasgow

I've stopped going in here on Saturday afternoons after the football as it's too crowded- knee deep at the bar is an understatement! The beer selection is very good and it's cheaper than neighbouring pubs, so it is deservedly popular. Bar staff are friendly and efficient.

9 Oct 2009 10:21

The White Horse, Parsons Green

You were lucky to get a seat- it's always rammed whenever I visit.
Sign of a great pub though. I'm something of a class warrior, but I don't let the locals bother me.

8 Oct 2009 20:48

The Three Judges, Partick Cross

Great pub, one of my Glasgow faves. Staff are either pleasantly functional or friendly and the beer is always good.
