Weel kept bitter with 5 to selct from. The food is not cheap but good value. Friendly and polite staff. The locals also support this pub on a regular basis

The Dog and Pheasant, Brook

I have been visiting this pub for 40 years and can remember the good old days when John and his father were in charge. However, times move on and this is the best the D & P has been since.

First visit today since the new ownership, service as good - friendly and polite - as always. it was apparent food was from best ingredients, and not overpriced. The whole place has been tidied and cleaned up whilst retaining the charm of a local pub. Good luck to them, will go back now plenty of times.

Beer - Timothy Taylor. Ringwood Forty Niner as well as Best and one other I cannot remember. Also noticed draught cider

The Parrot Inn, Shalford

Do you remember the good old days when the landlord would be polishing glasses and would not stand for any 'language'? This is the place for you then, Very clean and tidy, efficient staff and a nice pint of Shere Drop. This landlord runs a tight ship.

Fox Inn, Rudgwick

If you like well prepared dishes from a well-sourced supply of freshly caught fish this is the place to go. Reasonably priced. Wealth of oak beams in old pub typical if this neck of the woods.

Good range of beers. The only criticism is the the close proximity of the table is alright if you want to eavesdrop on your neighbour

The Pelican, Fulham

Ideal venue for the mature Chelsea supporter only 350 yds from the ground. London Pride and Spitfire 3.20 per pint. Friendly bar staff.

The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

The landlord's selection of two guest ales alongside old favourite 'London Pride' continue to please the most discerning bitter drinkers. In addition there is a selection of 'real ciders' from the cask as well as perry.

Just returned from an excellent Sunday lunch, the place was packed - despite the credit crunch - and was warmly greeted by the landlord's usual bonhomie. Whilst they were stretched by the number of customers the friendly staff didn't keep anybody waiting for long.

A contrast to the vociferous and petulant comments of godalmingguy - it must be a personal grudge. The Squirrel never fails to deliver the goods for myself or those who continue to support it, whether for food or just a drink.

No I am not their PR agent, somebody more important than that, a regular and satisfied customer!!
