The Black Bull, Ruislip

The pub has reopened following an extensive refurbishment.

Sweeney's, Ruislip

Attractive blond barmaid=friendly, landlord (Dave?) less so. The kind of landlord that ignores you whilst you wait to be served if the bar staff are having a loo break. Not sure if he is a racist or just a rude arrogant f-wit, sadly I assume he is both.

Beer Ok, reasonable prices. Fairly clean but smells like a chip shop.

Free WIFI but can't rate it given that the WIFI wasn't working properly.

Zero rating only because the of the landlord's behaviour today, otherwise a 5 or 6 (based on a quiet midweek early evening ).

The John Snow, Soho

I have to give a low rating to this place for no reason other than as a Samuel Smith pub you cant get a decent/recognisable branded pint.

They are the Apple of the pub world... I only drink there when I am too embarrassed to walk out once I realise that it is a Sam S joint

The Eastcote Arms, Eastcote

It's clean. That is probably the best thing I can say about it.

Looks like they might be going bust- lots of empty space in the glass fronted fridges. No more free WIFI either.

Only been here about 10 times and have always been made to feel that I was inconveniencing the staff by ordering a drink.

The Middlesex Arms, South Ruislip

I drink here from time to time and whilst my opinion of the pub is largely favourable I have to give it a poor rating based solely on the ridiculous waiting times.

On too many occasions I have strolled in- waited 10 minutes and got fed up and walked out.

Even when the pub is not busy the staff fail to acknowledge you, regulars who walk in much later get priority or the staff decide to go off and collect glasses.

I sympathise with showing regulars a degree of preference when the pub is busy but don't pretend that you can't see punters waiting at the bar.

Were it not for the service I would give a 7/10

The Grove, Ealing

Although still undergoing a refurb this place has been a studenty "dive" since it was renamed as Finnegan's Wake.

It was not previously the Queen's Head- it was the Queen Vic. It is rumoured that it was the inspiration for the pub of the same name in Eastenders, the early script writers drank there.

Difficult to rate given that it is closed but I will give it a max rating based on the fact that when Micheal Theale ran it in the 90's it was the best in ealing.

The Ealing Park Tavern, South Ealing

A reputation for good food and ales. Personally i go to pubs to drink rather than eat, that i do in restaurants. A pub that is a better eatery than a hostelry is a restaurant with a bar. The focus here seems to be with the food rather than serving people at the bar. It's one of those places where you can easily find yourself wearing a cloaking device whilst waiting to be served at the bar- expect to wait ages to get served.

attractive staff- not very observant of people at the bar with empty glasses (or who have just walked in.

The Drayton Court, West Ealing

USED to be the best pub in london when don and Mif ran it. Went down hill rapidly after they left. Has improved a bit after the grumpy Napoleon complex landlord left.

staff are either excellent or crap, to be expected of training pub I guess. Too often have found my self wearing an invisibility cloak whilst waiting to get served.

still drink there on a regular basis.

Have always resented the Fuller pricing structure. because of the rateable valve of the pub the beer prices are high- even though much of this massive pub is off limits to the public and are used by fullers for training etc. We therefore subsidise fullers' staff training. don't be surprised to find cheaper fullers pubs in central London.

Overall a pub with unlimited potential

The Bell, Ruislip

Vastly improved pub.

Landlady Rose is welcoming and friendly. Always nice to see the owners on the public side of the bar when not working.

Used to be a shit hole as suggested before but I now happily pop in en route home after work.

The Black Bull, Ruislip

Probably the best venue for watching England games.

More screens than even Elvis had and you get served pretty fast even when the pub is rammed.

Agree with tottenhammassive about the quiz. Great atmosphere.
