The Sweet Green Tavern, Bolton

Probably the best proper boozer in Bolton - and a fine selection of ales... well worth a visit.

The Britannia Inn, Farnworth

If your after a decent pint in Farnworth this is the (only) place - surroundings could be improved but are what they are. Moorhouses well kept and well priced.

Stocks Hotel, Walkden

Once was a good night a long time ago and a good local - now is dire - how long will it be until a conversion is on the cards.

Lord Nelson Hotel, Stoneclough

Fisrt time I'd been in the Nelson last weekend and the pub is now geared towards eating - which is no problem as the food was spot on - good to see innovation with the menu and good quality Thwaites on cask. Was quiet when visited but I undertsand booking is recommdned for food during evening.

The Cock Hotel, Worsley

Although the (fairly) recent changes externally are for the worse the inside is much better - and decent beer avaailable too. Can be quiet early on but gets busier - just about right.

Bridgewater Hotel, Worsley

Up until my last visit it was a while since I had been in and the place has definately changed for the better. Decent beer selection and a more relaxed atmosphere than there has been in recent times.
