The Huntsman, Cheadle

Very friendly, with reasonable selection of beers at fair prices. Central bar with rooms off. Food local and good.

The Grape Vaults, Leominster

Nice pub, decent beer selection from local brewers. Quite small but warm and friendly.

The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

Revisited this weekend. Standby what we found last time, very good well kept ales and friendly staff. Worth including in any visit to the town.

The Wheatsheaf Inn, Ludlow

Visited for Sunday lunch, a good value carvery. Quite small inside, more like a country inn than a town pub. Only two ale Cocker Hoop or Marstons Best (a decent well kept pint). Brilliant landlady, a real character! Nice place.

The Church Inn, Ludlow

Very central with a very good selection of real ale. Pub itself is OK and seemed quite popular, but looks a bit rundown inside. Service could have been better. Worth visiting.

The Globe, Ludlow

Tried the Bar to the restaurant. Seems OK, but very limited choice of draught beer. More of a restaurant than pub.

The Rose and Crown, Ludlow

This weekend whilst exploring Ludlow a bit more we found the Rose and Crown. Despite a number of A-boards scattered around the alleys nearby it's easy to miss. The approach is though a courtyard (the toilets being here and like something from a past age!). The pub is very old inside with lots of character, but felt dark and dingy. In truth we were not particularly impressed by the beer, best described as average. OK if you find it.

The Queens, Ludlow

Being back in Ludlow for the weekend, we decided to explore a bit more. Finding the Queens was a bonus. A comfortable pub with a very large eating area. Overall the beers sampled were good, and staff friendly.

The Severn Gorge, Telford

Visited here whilst having a business lunch. Never again! Beer OK but nothing at all special. My lunch partner ordered a G&T to end up with gin and soda! Service was poor and the place not very clean.

The Crown, Worcester

Worst service I've experienced for a while. The beer was OK, but food and service poor. If you want serving don't expect it to be quickly!

The Lichfield Vaults, Hereford

Two of us called in for lunch. Good food and excellent pint. Staff seem friendly and helpful. It is a little bit tucked away but seems popular.

The Barrels, Hereford

Really enjoyed my first visit to The Barrels. Was recommend to me, plus being new to BITE, seeing reviews backed it up. Great ale, good choice and well kept. Pub itself is a little utilitarian but well worth a visit.

The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow

Three of us having been walking in the area for the first time, decided to visit this famous hotel for a very enjoyable lunch stop. Ludlow Best, Boiling Well (an ale the bar recently won with at the Food Festival Ale award) and Hobsons Twisted Spire were all tried by various members of the party and all declared very fine. The food was as good and service friendly. Marvellous place.
