The Craft Beer Co, Brighton

What a place! Place looks a bit bare but I can easily get over that with all the positive points. Amazing beer selection, unsurpassed in Brighton. Bottles are imported from all over the world and a little on the pricey side, but my beer geek friend was very impressed, even more so after the staff happily entertained him in a long conversation about Belgian sours.
Very well kept british real ale, and very reasonably priced. Everything is from microbreweries, and the staff were more than happy to answer any questions we had.

The Windmill, Brighton

A friend recommended this place. Visited last weekend and although I was impressedd with their bottle selection, I found the staff to be awkward and rude. It wasn't busy and I don't think it's too much to expect a basic level of politeness from your server.
Will continue in my quest!

The Rose Hill Tavern, Brighton

Great bar under it's new incarnation as the 'jamaica inn'. Harveys and doom bar plus a guest ale, plus some interesting bottles of ale and lots of rum. As suggested by the name the place now has a jamaican theme. A refreshing change from the samey samey pubs you see everywhere now.

The Druids Arms, Brighton

What a blinder of a pub. I've lived in this area for 9 years now and have frequented this place irregularly over that time. Such a wonderful atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and open late weekends! Good beer selection, usually dark star and harveys, plus a few more interesting kegs like leffe and hoegarden, although in my experience these last 2 are often unavailable. Thai food very reasonable too.

The Cobblers Thumb, Brighton

Full of character. This is one of the only pubs in my local area where I enter as a stranger and genuinely feel I'm part of a family. The staff are welcoming and friendly, but not in a scary, desperate way. Regulars were inclusive without being lecherous. Ale selection was great and the garden was warm despite the rain and cold outside.
Last time I was in there was a brilliant bluegrass band on too - apparently live music is becoming a regular occurance on the weekends.

The Hare & Hounds, Brighton

Now called 'The Hydrant' and angling to be a music venue. Was in there last night, they are now part of 'Brighton Live' so obviously the music venue bit is working out. Couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something is missing from this place. Could be the size of the place, or the fact that it was empty.

The Worlds End, Brighton

Not exactly sure what this place is trying to achieve in terms of it's offering. Is it a student bar, cheap eatery, cool hangout, nasty sports bar or working men's club? It seems to be trying to be all of these things and falling short on all counts. Plus, on my most recent visit I was served by someone who told me he was the manager. He was a very odd man to say the least. Trying a little too hard to befriend me and my group of mates.
Won't be returning in a hurry
