Yates's, Woking

a REAL dive. Actually worse than Chameleon sometimes, and at least with Chameleon people have a little affection for it even though they know its shite. No-one cares about this place...and for a good reason.

O'Neills, Woking

I used to always meet my friend in here for a quiet drink. I like it enough. It is probably my pub of choice in Woking, the next being the Station, as they are slightly quieter and chilled. The service I have always found to be good. When it has taken a while I am still always acknowledged and they tend to serve people in the right order...

Not so great when the football is on but then thats my problem as a lot of people come to watch matches in there. If you dont like football avoid matches as there is no quiet area.

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking

Hit and Miss. Best to check out what nights are going on when as if you pick one that doesnt suit you wont actually appreciate this can be a nice place.

Personally I prefer to come here for an early evening drink when it is quite quiet. Then you can catch up with friends without listening to hardcore dance music.

Really nice to sit outside which is surprising given that it is on the main road but is quite relaxing.

Nice to be out of the main town too.

The Chameleon Bar, Woking

I have never been to it as a pub, just as a club.

My advice would be to avoid unless you are very drunk. Then you will not care about the sticky floors, awful music, djs who dont listen to any kind of request even if it is in the top 40, and drunk people either having sex or trying to have sex with you. It is a meat market essentially.

I always regret coming here when I look at my receipts the next day and see I paid to go in and to get drinks and I have never had a wonderful night, just some ok ones.

I personally have never had problems with the bouncers. My friends have though and they seem to be more rude to men for some reason. I have also seen people kicked out for kissing (which is ironic given that I have actually seen people groping in a very full on way in here!)

There is not much choice of club in Woking which is why everyone ends up here but if it is a sober choice dont do it!

The Herbert Wells, Woking

I spent too many of my formative years here and have given this particular establishment too much of my money! It made me chuckle to see another reviewer say it had gone downhill in the last two years, ten years ago it was pretty dire! But then again we kept going back and had a lot of fun.

To be fair I cant comment on Wetherspoons lately, I havent been in there for about a year. Staff are usually decent enough and you are always guarenteed to bump into someone if you are a local (this is not necessarily a good thing).

Not the best wetherspoons but consistent and food usually ok (though all they generally have to do is heat it up so it should be I suppose)

The Amersham Arms, New Cross

Used to come here occassionally for the comedy (which has since moved). Always enjoyed it.

The Brockley Barge, Brockley

This is a pretty standard Wetherspoons. Not my oub of choice but ok depending what you are after. Nice garden in the back which I tend to deviate towards when I am there. Food usual Wetherspoons, fine for a cheap night
