The Railway Tavern, Carshalton

Shame it's closing; it was one of the better ones. Might make the others sit up a bit - if the Railway can't cope in these hard times, how will the rest survive?

The Hope, Carshalton

It's improving, but there's a long way to go. The reputation it's trying to get rid of may be hard to shed, but full marks for trying. Shame there was no food on.

The Coach and Horses, Carshalton

Terrifying beer - it was older than I am. Had the trots for days! Very random people who all seem to hate everybody. Best not to go in at all.

The Sun, Carshalton

A strange man offered to buy my wife! Althouogh I was tempted, it's not the sort of thing that you expect when popping in for a quick pint! All of the regulars seemed to be related, and rather aggressive that an outsider has dared to come in to 'their pub'. Best avoided if you value your life. Or wife, for that matter.

The Windsor Castle, Carshalton

The band were awful, and you can't hear yourself think. I won't be returning.

The Dukes Head, Wallington

Far too pricey, and what was with the Frank Sinatra thing? It's not the 1960's!! Aiming at a dead market, I think. Could do better. Couldn't get much worse.

The Greyhound, Carshalton

One of the most stunning pubs I have ever been to - and the staff were pretty gorgeous too! Fantastic range of beers, with the stonking Bombadier on draught and bottled - you can't say fairer than that! Try the new Kew bottle by Young's - a smoother bitter would be hard to find. I must admit, the staff led me atray, and I drank far too much, but then you can always stay in the hotel! Can't give them too much kudos - they were kind and courteous to the end, even though I could hardly stand up! Pure pub heaven.
