The Railway, Streatham

I have visted the Railway several times, usually on my way home from work for a quick pint with my girlfriend. Never eaten a full meal here so can't comment on the quality of the food, however as the review below states, it does look good on the menu.

Only ever one pump on, the rest is continental lagers, but at least it's decent ones rather than the usual carling, carlsberg, stella offerings. The Ale is usually "Summer Lightning" or Adnams "Broadside" and quite good to boot.

Garden is loveley in the summer and is just off the back room used for the sport.

Overall very pleasant pub if not anything outstanding.

The Bar, Instow

Went here for a couple of pints and lunch. Seemed rather understaffed for a busy sunday lunchtime.

Beer was good, enjoyed a pint of St. Austells Doom Bar and Otter (I don't remember which local brewery that was from but it was much tastier than the former).

We ordered the plaice, but was told it would be flounder instead. This took ages to arrive and was bland, undercooked and uninteresting. Vegetables were lacklustre too. Atmosphere was good however and the decor of the pub a light and open.

Overall I'd say go here for a pint but visit a local fish restaurant for lunch.

The Village Inn, Lynmouth

Popped into here for a pint after a pleasant walk down from watersmeet. Staff friendly, their dog especially so!!! Real fire, good ale, good cider too. Not many people in, but then it was a saturday afternoon outside the tourist season, which is the area's main source of revenue outside of fishing.

Nautical theme throughout the pub...

Didn't eat there so I can't comment on that.
