The Jolly Coopers, Hampton

Wonderful food. The tapas menu is to die for...................

The Lord Moon Of The Mall, Whitehall

Monday 7th November 11. Pub packed with only 2 bar staff. Male toilets blocked with paper and full of excrement...absolutely discusting. Complained to staff and told that due to being busy there was nothing they could do.

Joes Bar and Restaurant, Hampton Hill

Have now become a regular diner at La Familiar. The food is always lovely and of the highest quality The table staff are attentive, polite and helpful. All in all a lovely place in which to enjoy a really great night out.

I heard that La familiar had had a change of ownership so decided to give it another try and was very pleased I did. Maria and her husband were charming and fantastic hosts. The bar/restaurant area is beautifully decorated and presented as are the toilets and wash rooms. Our food was lovely, fresh and cooked to our liking and arrived quickly and with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who all joined in with the evenings entertainment which made our visit a very enjoyable one. A very well done to the new owners for turning this place around so well and we will certainly see you again soon

Hamptonboozer. Tam and Ant have not stayed in the pub game. They are well and living in Sunbury. After their experiences with enterprize inns its no wonder they got out. Your right, the High St is drab. The Rising sun is very good though

The Alma, Heath End

What a lovely transformation! The new owners have made some lovely improvements and there is even a full menu and Sunday lunch which by all means is superb. Well done guys and keep it up.

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

The Clarence used to be the premier pub in the High street. Remember the days when Kevin ran the pub? Nowadays its just a dirty shell of the place it used to be.
Even the high hopes of the thai food served in the back have now been quashed and that venture has closed down. Whats left????

19 Oct 2010 13:10

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

Still going from strength to strength. The menu has been re-vamped and is a winner! Went in for the shooting star night.....great night out and for a great cause.

Went in again for Sunday lunch 02/04/10. The food and service goes from strength to strength ! Well done.

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

Full of football louts !!!!! It is impossible to enjoy a pint with louts swearing and screeming. Never again ......

The problem is that the management are no longer bothered. The bar is filthy.......look around when your next in there......its pretty discusting!
Rumour has it that its up for sale soon so watch this space.

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

Once again this pub goes from strength to strength. Sunday lunch is the best in the area, really fresh and cooked to your liking. Its not often you are asked how you would like your roast beef. My preference is rare and I got the most delicious rare beef. My wife asked for well done and she got it to her liking. Well done for your attention to detail and keep up the good work!

CLOSED FOR GOOD !
Going to be de-licenced and turned into a house

Jackb, I understand and respect your views but we will have to agree to dissagree on this one. My comments are not intended to be malicious and I only ask that restaurants do better and provide the service they should. Could I suggest you try the m2 restaurant across the road. It does not have the atmosphere of Joes but the food is very good.

Joes Bar and Restaurant, Hampton Hill

The last comment stated 'how Joe's ended up'. Remember that this still is Joe's but with a new name. My main complaint is that if a restaurant promotes itself as a mediterean family restaurant.....please offer family home cooked mediterean food and not mass produced packet grub that can be bought cheaply at Bookers. Its simple really....employ a chef!

The poor manager in the place has my sympathy. Left in charge of a dead bar with no budget, no beer and no hope. Went in at the weekend and there was no Guiness, 2 lagars were off and the only one left was Becks vier!!!! What on earth is that???
Asked him why no beer to be told that he has no money to get any from the brewery!!! Oh my god......the High Street best pub a year ago has gone to this all because of Enterprize Inns.

10 Sep 2009 10:31

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

Been in a couple of nights this week to sample the 5 meals....fantastic !!!
A proper meal, 13 items to choose from and large portions for a fiver. Its cheaper and better (no disrespect to the wifes cooking) than eating at home. The pubs going from strength to strength which is great for the High Street................ Hey Foxy....I guess closing time is closing time and there is loads to do when the customers leave. Anyhow, sounds like you had a nice night

The Star, Hampton Hill

A very traditional old school pub. PJ is a lovely guy who works his socks off. Tied into Enterprize inns though and that is a massive handicap. Very 'clicky' customers

Joes Bar and Restaurant, Hampton Hill

Tried hard with the decor and it looks very nice but the food is still the same and badly lacking in any attention to detail. With my party we had 9 tapas dishes, seven were pre cooked, bought in or from a packet. Even a simple dish like a Spanish tortilla was shop bought and micro waved to death. If they are going to sell themselves as a mediterean family restaurant then please have some home cooked food cooked by a chef and not shop bought boil in the bag rubbish

The Jenny Lind, Hampton Hill

Yet another set of temp owners have arrived and actually given the place a lick of paint. Cheap prices all week on beer and spirits. Good luck to them in seeing how much they can earn in a short time. Enterprize Inns should be ashamed at what they have done to this and thousands of other good pubs!

19 Aug 2009 09:33

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

....thats the trick ! you can only go in the week to avoid to avoid the yobs. Stick you head in on the last weekend of the month when the youngsters have just been paid to witness how these owners have really sold what was a nice pub, down the river ! AVOID !!!

19 Aug 2009 09:29

The Worlds End, Hampton

Such a shame that the pub has its rowdy element as its a lovely bar area with a great garden etc. But, and its a big but, the rowdies spoil it for all.
Penny the barmaid is a big plus, great character and worker with a great laugh

3 Aug 2009 14:46

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

Cannot understand the last comment about the food. My wife and I had Sunday lunch at the Rising yesterday and were really impressed. The other groups of diners also passed on their compliments to the kitchen staff. Great lunch, great atmosphere and great value.......seems like a great recipe to me. Best place in town to enjoy a night out.

6 Jul 2009 14:23

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

It is very obvious that the Clarence is now operating solely for the young trade it welcomes in on a Friday and Saturday night. Gone are the days of a relaxing drink where you felt relaxed and safe. But dont let that put you off if you like the sight of kids fighting/throwing up and if you get excited by the sound of police sirens then this place is a must!! Its also the dearest pub in town and sells second rate spirits at premium price.....AVOID

29 Jun 2009 15:16

The Jenny Lind, Hampton Hill

Breaks my heart to go near the place.......dreary, drab with no heart. not a picture on the wall, just the marks where that old ones were.
Steer clear...............its awful!!!!!

26 Jun 2009 16:39

The Rising Sun, Hampton Hill

A breath of fresh air in the High street. Bright and airy with great staff who have many plans for the place. Such a fantastic change from the old dreary Rising sun.............thanks guys and keep it up

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

Charge for premium Vodka but supply a cheap brand!!!!

26 Jun 2009 16:34

The Jenny Lind, Hampton Hill

Oh well I guess time has finally been called. Such a shame and the end of era really for drinkers at the Jenny. Thanks Tammy and Ant for all your efforts and such a shame you were banging your head against the proverbial brick wall called 'Enterprise inns' who have done there utmost to get you out.
Enterprise Inns are a property company and not a brewery who do not give a toss for the pub trade, its staff or customers. They have certainly showed their true colours this time.
So long Jenny Lind................its been emotional!

Best music venue in the area......especially when Crywolf are on

The best Sunday lunch in the area. 11.95p for 2 amazing courses. restaurant nicely furnished, staff courteous and polite and the food top notch. Dont go in if your not hungry as the portions are big. Well done to all the staff, our party of 5 at 2.30pm 25/01/09 had a lovely time

26 Jan 2009 14:57

The Longford, Hampton Hill

..the steak may be good but not at those prices! No wonder the doors will be shut for good in a couple of weeks!

26 Jan 2009 14:53

The Jenny Lind, Hampton Hill

Dropped in on Sat to the guv'nors birthday bash and what a night!!! The entertainment was great and the crowd too. Everybody made welcome and a good night had by all. So c'mon everybody....if you dont want to see the pub closing, GET IN THERE and support it. Its a local pub for locals and in these times needs and deserves your support!

26 Jan 2009 14:51

Duke of Clarence, Hampton Hill

...have the toilets ever had a coat of paint????

10 Jan 2009 15:02

The Longford, Hampton Hill

...16.99 for a steak!!!!
...16.40 for 4 drinks and a bowl of nuts!!!!
Get real please, this is supposed to be High Street pub not Gordon bloody Ramseys.
Food is average, service too long as a shortage of staff and prices far too High. Rumour has it that Wetherspoons are taking over. .....cant wait!

The Hairy Lemon, Alnwick

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Friday night.....10.40pm and it was shut!!!
Nuff said....................

The Falcons Rest/Bar Zanz, Alnwick

...just how sad can life get! This place is and has always been the last chance saloon full of misery.

20 Nov 2008 17:19

The Jenny Lind, Hampton Hill

Friendly pub, great owners who have tried so hard and given us locals a nice place to drink. Never any trouble and a very friendly crowd. If you havn't dropped in as yet make it your next port of call, you will be made welcome.
P.S Dogs welcome which is a nice touch for the dog walkers coming in from Bushey Park!
