The Skyrack, Headingley

The worst pub in Headingley.

This place can't decide whether it's a bar or a pub. Pretty expensive given what you get. Not worth a visit

Cap & Gown, Aston

Great pub for any supporters of 'away' teams going to Villa Park. Always worth a visit on a match day

Yard Of Ale, Birmingham

Dingy, underground pub. Very rude staff who tried to tell me it was 'against the law' to wear a baseball cap in Birmingham pubs.

The Library, Woodhouse

Monday night, all drinks 1. A student institution!

I miss this place on a weekly basis...

Arcadia Ale and Wine Bar, Headingley

Odd place, tucked away in a shopping arcade.

Great choice of beer no doubt about that, but it is a bit pricey and the design of the bar means there are few places to stand when you inevitably can't get a seat.

Worth a visit though.

The Three Horseshoes, Headingley

Was my local for a few years. Good drop of Tetley's cask available and reasonable price too.

Decent mix of students and locals. Very good pub

The Angel Inn, Leeds

A fantastic pub tucked down a back alley in the centre of leeds. Incredibly cheap, good, local Yorkshire beer, and an interesting mix of regulars.

Well worth a visit.

St Stephens Tavern, Westminster

A very good pub. I work in Westminster and this is my favourite place for an afterwork pint. Great location with fantastic views of the Houses of Parliament from the cobbled area outside, plus a nice decor within.

Gets filled with an interesting mix of politicos and tourists, and can be a bit crowded as a result.

Trio, Headingley

One of my favourite bars in the whole country. Brilliant selection of beer, fantastic music and a great crowd.

It can get a little bit busy at times, but if it's getting too much simply head upstairs to Skippy's and take advantage of the table service.

Top drawer.

The Original Oak, Headingley

Really can't understand the below review about the Oak being 'rough' and getting short changed. Can only imagine this person had a one off bad experiance.

The Oak is a brilliant pub for any twentysomething looking for a laugh and a good time. Yes, if you're old or a bit boring it probably isn't your cup of tea and the students could be annoying, but to anyone with some life about them the Oak is superb. Great atmosphere, brilliant beer garden, friendly regulars and a selection of women that make the Hollyoaks girls look like a bunch of munters. Not living in Leeds anymore, I miss this place loads!

The Effra Hall Tavern, Brixton

Despite the limited choice of draught beer and the fairly rude, unhelpful staff, The Effra is a great pub. It's got an energetic atmosphere, regular live jazz music and a good bunch of locals. Sit at the bar in the centre of the pub, in the beer garden out the back or at the tables on the street. Either way, the Effra is well worth a visit
