The Swan, Abbotsbury

Located on the main road, catches a lot of the tourist trade and the prices and quality of food reflects this. I cannot therefore recommend this for food, really didn't like the microwaved morsel that I ended up with, tasted of nothing and still hungry afterwards.

The positive side is that the Landlord is a decent chap who looks after his beer okay, so for a quick pint of Ale, I'd pop in to see what he has on offer. Normal offering of Guiness and lagers, with a selection of the local Dorset brew all tasting refreshing enough.

Royal Oak, Weymouth

Also found the screens a distraction, maybe they couls be switched off if no-one actually wants to watch them. The beers lacked any imagination (just the usual drafts IPA/lager), but were palatable for the price, better than some of the town centre establishments. Friendly folk and dogs though, Ladies darts night is a must for a laugh. A place to enjoy the 6-Nations Rugby when the season starts?

The Royal Oak, Milborne St. Andrew

Recently re-opened, very friendly barstaff with good quality beer and wines on offer. Prices set for locals and with a small menu available. Will expand the menu as time goes on. Dogs and well behaved children welcome, can be used as a base for walks/running groups if you let them know in advance. Early days yet, but looking good for the future. I wish them all the best and will continue to pop-in when I'm in the area.

The Albert Inn, Wyke Regis

Very much a locals pub, good for catching up on the local gossip in the village. Very warm and friendly staff, limited selection of beers, but made up for in the quality of them. No food at the moment, but dogs and children are made welcome so there is a family friendly atmosphere.
