Simply the best real ale pub around. Great service, free insults, no jukebox and no kids. Marvellous.

Don't let the fact that this great pub is run by a miserly Yorkshire half-wit put you off. Grasping Dan is passionate about his real ales and often has unusual and far-flung breweries featured. House beer (Facer's) is good value and if you time it right , you may get a free bar snack or two.

Lovely pub with good food and well-kept real ales. The two gay guys behind the bar, Luke and Tom, are hilarious, too.

Good choice of real ales, reasonable prices, and what a refreshing change to find a bar full of buxom serving wenches.

ignore the last review - the Landlord is far too tight to turn the heating on, but this is a great pub where students and codgers drink together, which makes for a great atmosphere and the beer is always in tip-top nick.
