The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush

Lovely Ale's on - good to see Doom Bar on sale! Found myself going here loads recently. Food is really good and reasonably priced, can't recommend the roasts highly enough. I like this place because it transforms from Pub to Bar to Club seamlessly. Can't find anything better in the Bush at the moment!

Crobar, Soho

Amazing rock/metal bar. Very welcoming if you're an easy going and pleasant person. Open really late with some classic tracks being played on the jukebox by the regulars who obviously know their stuff. Highly recommended.

O'Neills, Soho

It can be hard to get in on busy nights due to the location. Sometimes they operate a mixed couples entry policy. I've found that if you have a friendly chat with the doormen they'll let you in. Great pub inside thats open late, ok drink prices and DJ's/cover bands playing Thursdays to Sundays. A good destination for a fun night out.

Waxy's Little Sister, Piccadilly Circus

I always meet up with friends and family here as it's a lovely little pub. Never had a problem with the service and drinks always been served well. You can't go wrong with this place.

Metra Club and Bar, Leicester Square

This place is moody with fights kicking off all the time. The manager is known for being a knob and it's reflected by the staff and doormen. AVOID!!!

The Round Table, Leicester Square

One of the better pubs in the area. I always go here when out for a gig or going to the theatre. Service has always been good and a standard pub atmosphere.

The Proud Gallery, Camden

Stuck up bar staff, rude management and over priced drinks. Try it for yourself and I can guarantee you'll have the same experience! Crap

The Anglesea Arms, Hammersmith

I went here last night for a friends leaving do. Lovely old pub feel to this place which has plenty of character. A mate was drinking London Pride and said it tasted fine and served at the correct temp. I was on the guinness which you can't go wrong with.
There was a lovely atmosphere with couples and groups of people dotted around the pub and dining room.
I ordered a Rib Eye Steak (rare) for 17 which had been recommended by a friend. It was one of the best steaks i've had in London and I eat steak a lot. It was served with beetroot and butternut squash wedges which worked really well and a parsley butter.
I'll definitely be going back and taking the missus for some more tasty food.

Tim Bobbin, Urmston

Who gives a shit what this used to be, IT'S A WETHERSPOONS NOW!!!! Why go in here if you want good service? Stop being tight fisted and go somewhere a bit more expensive that is half decent you idiots.

The North Star, Ealing

Yes the service can be slow BUT the pub looks and feels great. Nice vibes and good choice of draught. Go during early week to chillout

The Dublin Castle, Camden

Great pub and a great Venue. Check it out

The Lock Tavern, Camden

Listen CharlyF, pubs in London get busy. There are loads of pubs/bars/clubs that operate gustlist or membership cards - BIG DEAL. Go somewhere else! If you like the enterprise then you won't like the Lock = the Enterprise is shit and full of chav pikey's with their fading tatoo's and their pet dogs that feed on young children. Oh and the Lock doesn't sell super tennants so your better off down the off licence mate. Do us all a favour and stay in bedford, cheers

The Hawley Arms, Camden

I think Amy Wino has traded this place for the Monarch, which is a good thing. Looking forward to the re-opening!

Vesbar, Shepherds Bush

Matt Matt Matt - we all love you Matt. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The Buck's Head, Camden

This place belongs in croydon - very chav

The Elephants Head, Camden

A nightmare. Unless you like ex football thugs and recovering smack heads.

12 Sep 2008 22:28

The Good Mixer, Camden

Highly over rated - full of skint flints waiting for free drinks from their bar staff mates and a white powder fuelled lock in.

12 Sep 2008 22:25

Ice Wharf, Camden

I thought it'd be crap in here but I gave it a go with some mates before a gig and it was actually alright. Nice enough bar staff and a great view of the canal - it's no Hawley Arms/Lock Tavern/Monarch though. Worth a quick visit.

The Porterhouse, Covent Garden

Great place during the quieter weekdays. The high percentage beers take your face off!

Harpoon Louis, Taunton

The best pub in Taunton!!!!!!

The Goldhawk, Shepherds Bush

Good pub, staff friendly enough and beer selection 7/10. The interior design is a bit random - lots of different styles of furniture/decor make it feel a bit like an antiques auction sometimes.
Great food...

The Defector's Weld, Shepherds Bush

Wow three bad reviews in a row. This pub doen't deserve that. If you don't like BBC types then drink somewhere else, if you wear 3/4 trousers on a friday evening then go to the Walkabout and if you want to buy 'a pint' of coke and watch everyone around you drink alcohol so that you can cry and make everyone at your next AA meeting really proud of you then please don't do it here.

I've been a regular at the Defectors for a couple of years now and i'm rarely disappointed. The bouncers have always been friendly towards me and my friends, the staff can be a bit straight faced sometimes but thats normally when they're very busy and the drinks/food are always tasty and good value.
I recently reserved their 'snug bar' upstairs for a colleagues leaving do and we had a great night.

If your looking for a great pub in Shepherds Bush then this is it - closely followed by the 'Goldhawk'.
