The Jolly Sailors Inn, Whitby

We found this pub on Sunday. Old Brewery bitter (1.33 a pint) was excellent, went in every day of my visit to Whitby. Even the Soverign was in excellent condition for 1.34 a pint. Had lunch there on Wednesday 21st Feb - excellent fish and chips for 5.25, best we had in Whitby

The Cricketers Inn, Kingsley

was in there last week, had a couple of pints of Wadworth 6X which was on draught. Very quiet, pity the toilets smell so much.

The Worlds End Distillery & Restaurant, Chelsea

Visited Sat 11/2/06. Was very disappointed. Speckled Hen 3 a pint, only mediocre. Staff did not understand low alcahol, no bottled juices ie J20, only cartons. Wanted to eat there, but left after indifference by bar staff. The only plus were the TV screens showing the footie.

The Robin Hood, Standford

This pub is also currently closed, but looks like refurbishing work is under way.

The Royal Oak, Hollywater

This pub is currently closed. The owners wna tto reopen as a food pub, according to the sign on the door by the locals, but there could be structural implications. The owners might want to sell it off for housing, is the rumour.

Seven Stars, Stroud

Excellent family dining pub. Wlle kept beers, especially Fursty Ferrett.

Good food at reasonable price and you can eat all day - good for a family for late lunch or early dinner. small play area for the kiddies. Exceptionally clean toilets, with BBC7 palying in the gents.
