Goose At The Fighting Cocks, Moseley

The cocks was RAMMED this week, which explains why service might be slow. Its a shame cus it used to be really chilled and cosy, now it seems all and sundry are cramming themselves in since the smoking ban. Ill still go, just miffed that I cant always get a spot in the garden anymore! Still, they cant help being busy, victims of thier own sucess it seems!

Goose At The Fighting Cocks, Moseley

Since moving to Birmingham I drink in here regularly and have to say I have never waited a long time to get served, even at weekends. I went in for lunch with my boyfriend today. There were two managers there (I think) and one of them seemed to be serving quite alot of the time. My boyfriend had a burger and I had a pasta which was yummy, I am veggie and this pub has lots to offer where most places have next to nothing. The barmaid even brought us some more drinks to the table which I thought was really kind as it isn't a restaurant. I think the worst thing tho is the customers. I here lots of people having a go about service but have never experienced problems myself. I say give it a go before decidingfor yourself

The White Horse, Leamington Spa

The White Horse is back!! A completely new team have taken over this old scum pit, it reopened last week after major refurbishments, and it looks awesome. All the old features like the mirrors and doors are there but with some trendy modern touches and a cool jumbled mix of furniture. Easily the best range of beers in leamington, and they serve food till 10 which is great since no other pubs seem to! Me and my mates decided to check out the new improved version on friday and were extemely impressed with the funky atmosphere and genuinely lovely people. Pass it on! The nasty old nag is dead!!

The Eagle, Hoxton

The Eagle is not in any way, shape or form a wine bar or gastro pub. It is a pub. It is different because it caters for young people as well as old and has some premium continental products for those of us who like to try something new. But it is still a pub. And a great one at that in my opinion.

The Edinboro Castle, Camden

Not sure which Edinboro Castle these guys have been going to but I love the place. The decor is retro and funky, such a nice mid point between all the dingy old boozers and clinical wine bars that populate most of london. Beers are amazing, definitely the best and most innovative range in Camden and better than most of London, including my beloved Fruli! This place has had huge problems with the local residents and is doing its best to please everyone. And note to those who complain about lack of staff - if they had more staff Im sure they would use them!! Staff turn over is a problem for most bars in London.
