The Dog and Fox, Wimbledon Village

I guess the beer lovers here have not been recently, the dog and fox is NOT CHEAP and it does cater to the wealthy clientele of Wimbledon village. You could not however ask for friendlier more caring professional staff and the food and beer has always been great and served with a courteous smile. It's hotel rooms and vibe are getting rave reviews everywhere else - read for yourself!

If you want to go for a nice drink go somewhere else the frizzle next door does a better job and anywhere in the village is better than this pastiche pseudo Irish chain of badly run pubs!

The Bridge House Tavern, Penge

Having read some of the reviews I am not surprised.

Having an eye for taste and décor and building redevelopment does not mean you have any people skills, have a clue about customer service or managing staff.

The pub will eventually be sold, likely as was the Paxton another past local project by The bridges owners. Lets hope for the community it happens soon as its a great space just run by incredibly arrogant rude people, with a serious attitude problem. the scenario described by the chap who had a service charge added to his bill and then shamed loudly by the bar manager for asking for a refund is absolutely typical - do we really need that kind of petty behaviour from people we're paying good money to?

Nope.

The Glamorgan, Croydon

I have been reading the comments about this pub and they are true, but moaning about working people stopping in for a beer is a bit daft, 'Stripey shirts? Perhaps biker jacket and big boots or something else might make you more comfortable? Go to the oval they are all waiting for you!

However the people running the pub are often short with their clients and people in general, and as the comments show people remember and do not want to come back no matter how good the food and beer is.

The food and beer is excellent so you can't knock them for that but they are a grumpy pair running a pub they don't want anymore and sadly it really shows.

lets hope someone who doesn't hate Croydon so much buys the pub! Because we are not all so bad and have no doubt kept them fed and watered for many years.
